I’m finally able to update my availability for the next several months!
My calendar is starting to fill up, which is especially incredible considering that I officially moved a week ago!🥹
I do, however, have lots of spots available for both birth and postpartum support on the Sunshine Coast, with postpartum spots open as soon as July and one birth spot in September.
I cannot wait to work with clients throughout the Coast! If you are looking for a doula, let’s connect, I’d love to chat.

Soaking up the last evenings in Ontario.
Since moving back to Ontario at the end of 2023, my husband has been away for a good chunk of each summer. I made a habit of going for a solo walk after dinner, to enjoy nature, smell flowers and lay down on a meadow. I did that today too and had such a nice time looking at birds (a blue heron flew overhead!), insects and plants around me. Connecting to the earth, in the most direct way, has always felt right - and like I’m a part of a bigger whole.
Ontario has been wonderful in terms of community. My sister in law and her friends absorbed me into their group, I found my place at The Branches and in the local doula circle. I felt held and understood, and contributed to my small world the way I knew how: by making soup and baking bread, holding hands and going for walks together, being silly, being brave. It felt wonderful to be around people with whom I could laugh hard and cry when needed.
J. and I realized that our lives aren’t quite wild enough here: that we need “big” nature on our doorstep to be fully happy. The move back to BC is exciting (ocean! mountains! more wildlife!) but it’s difficult to leave the people we love. I’m so grateful to every friend, client, birth-worker, practitioner and friendly person in my life for making the last 2.5 years a time I’ll always remember.

Looking for ways to prepare for a vaginal birth? Try these!
There’s no magic formula to ensure that you’ll have a complication-free, vaginal birth. But adding some of these things can help prepare your body for labour and make it a bit easier when time comes.
A note on herbs: despite being “natural”, they can interact with some medications (red raspberry leaf tea can be contraindicated if you have to take insulin) or cause allergies. Make sure to ask your provider if it’s safe to you to use herbal remedies.
May I also suggest working with a doula? Having a doula decreases your risk of having a c-section and increases satisfaction after birth!

Just look at this gorgeous true knot- discovered after a healthy, vaginal birth!
True knots happen in about 1% of all pregnancies and most of the time do not cause any negative outcomes. If they are very tight, however, oxygen flow to the fetus might be compromised, which can lead to serious issues.
If you know that you have a true knot on your umbilical cord, your pregnancy will likely be closely monitored in the third trimester, with some extra Doppler testing. Paying attention to fetal movements is always recommended and can help prevent serious complications.
A true knot of the umbilical cord doesn’t mean that a pregnant person cannot have a vaginal birth - in most cases we don’t know that the knot is even present! Fetal distress during labour can be a basis for a recommendation for a c-section but in most cases the cause of distress is unknown.
Have you seen/ had a true knot? What was the experience?
