Our formulas are artfully distilled and blended by herbalist, naturalist, and Master Formulator Dominique Del Col in our solar-illuminated stillroom, housed within a converted heritage stone crofters cottage erected in 1879. A dedicated grassroots green space surrounded by a lush and fecund English garden, abundant in wild medicinal herbs and heirloom flowers. We are eternally devoted to crafting

the finest herbal skincare and wellness preparations in a conscious environment, using sustainable, organic, and wild foraged ingredients while advocating for biodynamic and celestially guided planting practices. Our formulations are thoughtfully concocted by hand in micro-batches with only the purest botanical essences and extracts, without artificial ingredients, and in mindful glass vessels free of unnecessary packaging. Our path is guided by intentional sourcing to navigate the environmental and social impact in every step of our makers' process. When you eat food that is in season, you lower your carbon impact. Locally grown food takes significantly fewer transportation resources, reducing your influence on emissions and greenhouse gases. Produce like herbs, flowers, grains, fruits and vegetables are also picked at the peak of their ripeness and nutrition density because they do not need to risk spoilage during transit. This means that each pear, plum, bundle of rosemary, or root vegetable is wildly more nutritious and healthful for you to enjoy. We are passionate about applying this vital principle in the formulation of our skincare. We hand-forage our bounty of wild organic botanicals when they are dripping with morning dew drops and glittering dollops of pollen, buried deep in the soil, fully functioning as a vital living ecosystem that sustains the natural world around it, nourishing bountiful crops and verdant forests and providing sustenance for diverse wildlife and landscape. Any rare essences or non-native plants used in our formulas are always wild-gathered, organic, and procured at a premium from micro-herbaries who share our values and are committed to regenerative growing and sustainable harvesting practices. As eternal earth stewards, we harvest in communion with and in reverence of this magnificent land while crafting skincare formulas that are nutritionally exceptional and magnificently effective.

The bones of our new home.

After months of dust, demolition, old walls uncovered and new ones quietly put back together, the Foundry Atelier is beginning to emerge.

We knew almost immediately that this was where Tidelands House belonged. Old brick bearing the marks of everything that came before us. Tall windows. Strange remnants of another life. Rooms that feel as though they have been waiting to be inhabited again.

There is still much to bring in, shelves to fill, botanicals to unpack, furniture to place and an atelier to build within these walls. But for a brief moment, before everything arrives, we wanted to remember it exactly like this.

Empty. Sunlit. Almost ready.

Fleurs & Feuillages

A field study of the garden at its fullest.

Blackcurrant leaf, goldenrod blossom, anise hyssop, wild mints, borage, yarrow, chamomile, bayberry, sage, dill and sunflower, gathered from one lush parcel of earth at the height of the season.

Fresh botanicals are carried directly from garden to still, where they are slowly distilled through copper into an extraordinarily aromatic facial essence. Verdant and herbaceous, with the coolness of crushed mint, the green fruitiness of blackcurrant leaf, soft florals and the faint sweetness of anise hyssop.

Mist generously over the complexion, hair and body, or press into freshly cleansed skin before your favourite serum.

Fine Facial Essence

A field study of the garden, gathered at peak season and captured through copper distillation.

Twelve herbs, flowers and aromatic leaves, gathered from one abundant garden and carried together through the copper still.

Anise hyssop, apple mint and spearmint. Chamomile and blue borage. Yarrow, goldenrod, northern bayberry, sage and dill. Dark, peculiar blackcurrant leaf and broad sunflower petals.

The resulting essence is fresh, green and quietly floral, opening with cool crushed mint and foliage before revealing the softly anisic sweetness of hyssop, the dark fruit-leaf character of blackcurrant and something meadow-like beneath.

It smells not of perfume, but of the garden disturbed by hand: stems broken, leaves crushed between the fingers, flowers gathered while still cool from morning.

Mist over the face, neck and décolletage before oils and serums, through freshly washed hair, or over the body as a cooling veil of aromatic garden water.

Herbarium is our ongoing series of distiller’s field studies, preserving a particular botanical gathering, growing place and moment in the season through water.

Our formulas are complete in themselves, though many were formulated with the understanding that they might also meet.

A measure of botanical oil worked into a mineral masque. Garden glycolic tempered with floral serum. An aromatic distillate pressed into the skin before an oil. Each combination alters the texture and character of the ritual, allowing the complexion, season and moment to determine what comes next.

Across the collection, these formulas create an expansive vocabulary for the skin. They may be layered, folded together or used quite simply on their own. There is no prescribed ritual here. Only considered formulations, made to work in concert, and the invitation to make
something particular to you.

We knew there was something special about this old doorway long before we noticed what was carved into it.

Wild roses unfurl beside oak leaves and acorns. Clematis winds quietly through the panels, while pine cones and woodland botanicals reveal themselves one by one as you slow down and look a little closer.

It feels as though the atelier had been patiently waiting for us all along.

Every day we uncover another thoughtful detail, another hidden treasure tucked into the architecture of this remarkable old building. We can’t wait to begin sharing more of these discoveries with you.

Today is the final day of our one-year installation in Historic Galt.

From 12–5 pm, we’ll be welcoming visitors one last time at 20 Grand Ave. S.

What began as a year-long atelier has become one of the most meaningful chapters in the story of Tidelands House. We’ve had the privilege of meeting extraordinary people, sharing countless cups of tea, introducing new botanical rituals, and becoming part of a community that welcomed us so generously.

To everyone who visited, supported us, told a friend, or simply stepped through our door out of curiosity, thank you. You helped shape this place into exactly what we had hoped it could become.

The story doesn’t end here.

In September 2026, we’ll open the doors to our permanent flagship atelier in Historic Downtown Dundas. It will be the fullest expression of Tidelands House to date: our handcrafted botanical skincare alongside carefully chosen artisan makers, antique and archival finds, a daily herbal tea service, and welcoming spaces created for conversation, curiosity, and quiet moments alike.

If you happen to pass our Grand Avenue door after today, don’t walk by too quickly. We’ve left something special waiting there for our Cambridge community, and for anyone who happens upon our windows over the next two weeks.

Hollyhocks have long been the flowers of old gardens, cottage doorways, and places that have been deeply loved over generations. In the language of flowers, they’re often associated with ambition, abundance, and the quiet pursuit of dreams, reaching skyward while remaining firmly rooted where they were planted.

As we prepare for our own new chapter in Historic Downtown Dundas, I keep returning to this beautiful painting by Henri Fantin-Latour. There’s something comforting about the way hollyhocks bloom: one blossom fading as another opens, each season gently making way for the next.

It feels like a lovely reminder that moving on isn’t leaving something behind. It’s allowing the story to continue somewhere new.
