Centre for Inspired Living

Centre for Inspired Living "Inspiring humanity for the wellbeing of the world". We teach tools for personal transformation.

The Centre for Inspired Living is a registered charity, providing practical and metaphysical tools that transform people's experience of existence. Our foundation is grounded around three pillars: INSPIRATION, EMPOWERMENT and WELLNESS. At The Centre, individuals acquire conscious living habits that transform their personal lives, their relationships, their workplaces, and their communities. We bel

ieve that empowered and inspired people, living from a place of connection and unity, make a difference - uplifting Life on both an individual and planetary level. Our main organizing principle is Oneness, meaning that all beings are part of the Whole of Life, and that we are all connected. We believe that where one person suffers or succeeds, we all suffer and succeed, so we embrace and value the uniqueness of every person, as essential to the Whole. We welcome all races and ethnicities, all religions, all countries of origin, all gender identities, all sexual orientations, all abilities; EVERYONE. And, as well as nurturing our members and students, we give to other community organizations through our "time, talent and treasures", as well.

How many times has your heart quietly whispered, "Go this way," only for your mind to jump in with a list of reasons why you shouldn't?

I've been experimenting with listening to that quieter voice a little more often. The results have surprised me in the best possible way.

This week's vlog is an invitation to wonder what might happen if, just once in a while, you let your heart go first.

Heart First, Mind Later.

We often celebrate logic, strategy, and careful planning. They're valuable. But some of the best opportunities in my life have begun with something much quieter—a feeling that simply said, "Go this way." This week's vlog explores the balance between intuition and intellect, and why making room for...

Ask A Practitioner 271 - Joy Snaps

Talk of “gratitude journals” is pretty common nowadays. Sometimes it can be hard to keep the practice up, though. I invite you to commit to taking “joy snaps” throughout your day instead (or in addition).

What is that? It is simply a habit of taking pictures throughout your day of things that remind you of little sparks of joy you notice yourself feeling. No special journal is required. No writing is necessary (unless you are inspired to). All you need is your smartphone (which I’m guessing a majority of people have with them most of the time) and a bit of awareness. (Awareness will grow the more you play at this).

Maybe you loved your breakfast — take a photo of it. Maybe you were awed by a sunset, you love riding your bike, or you felt a little smile inside when seeing a ladybug — take a picture to remind yourself. That is enough, but if you feel like it, you can also revisit those pictures at the end of the day before you sleep, to lock in the realization of how rich with moments of joy your days truly are (even if any particular day or time of your life otherwise feels hard). Your dreams will shift for the better. Your peace will increase.

Moments of joy are available always. Even in the midst of horror, it is up to us to train our brains to find proof of that joy more often than focusing on the things that scare, upset or defeat us.

Such a practice may run counter to the fear-based culture we have grown up in, but that is the point, really. I promise that if you do this regularly, it will grow your resiliency, confidence and faith in profound ways you might not yet even imagine. Click!

Who told you that?

Seriously... who?

So many of the ideas we carry around about success, relationships, money, happiness—even who we're supposed to be—arrived long before we ever questioned them. We just picked them up and kept walking.

Maybe it's time to look a little closer.

This week's vlog isn't about finding the "right" answers. It's about asking better questions.

River Rumble, Real Talk
We’re sitting right in the flow of a heat wave, literally in the water, and somehow that turns into a conversation about what spirituality even is anymore. Not the old frameworks, not the self-help version of “just think better thoughts,” but something more immediate and harder to name.
We wander through individuality, belonging, distraction, and that strange modern feeling of being both deeply connected and oddly separate at the same time. There’s no tidy answer here. Just two humans noticing what’s alive in the moment, while life keeps moving all around us.

Ask A Practitioner 270 - Sucking The Mop

“Observe and assess — do not ingest”. That’s a good rule for dealing with all the forms of mess or toxicity we may encounter in life.

Think, for a moment, how you might observe a dirty mop. Perhaps, with one look, you’d decide it was best to discard it. Or, you might clean it and continue on with it. You’d be at a choice point (like the many we encounter every day): What is worth your time and effort? What will bring you closer to your goals?

In either case, I imagine you’ll agree, it would absolutely NOT be reasonable (nor would it ever be your responsibility) to suck on that mop until it is back in pristine condition. Beyond being unpleasant, that would, of course, be toxic.

With that in mind, now ask yourself where and when in your own life you, metaphorically, find yourself trying to ‘clean with a dirty mop’ (especially if the mess you are cleaning up isn’t even your own). Then, as hard as it may be to admit to, also ask yourself where you have been allowing yourself to wind up “sucking the mop”. (Sometimes we get so used to suffering that we stop being aware of how our choices are now empowering it to continue). This line of questioning can help you recall the power of noticing.

Remember, you are an agent of The Divine in human form. What if you made your choices from that observation point?

Ask A Practitioner 269 - Zip Zap

So, you’re frustrated because your forward motion seems to have stalled.

What if it’s not a stall? What if it’s just a ‘rest and regroup’ so that Divine Timing can work in Its own magical, mysterious ways?

We put ideas out into the Universe, hoping to manifest our desires. We back that up with action… but then it doesn’t come into being in the way that we had imagined — SO frustrating! Maybe the Universe knows more than we recognize in our small human experience, though.

Life is a bit like dealing with a zipper. Sometimes things get tangled up and the zipper gets stuck. Is forcing, raging at the zipper, or hating on ourselves going to lead to evolution or solutions? No.

Instead, we take a deep breath, slow down, back the zipper up a bit, take time to investigate and clear the obstruction, and then we’re back in business.

If it turns out the zipper is broken? Well, that means it’s either time for a new ‘thing’, or time to get our sewing machines out!

There are always options if we open ourselves to them. A ‘stuck zipper’ is really a call to a new idea or way of being. As Einstein apparently said, “you can’t solve a problem with the same level of thinking that created it”. Time to let “stuck” become a catalyst for “stoked”.
