Once each summer, we pick a bigger trip to go on, today we chose to go on the trolly tours of moose jaw. It is a little bit harder because we have to have good mobility to get up the stairs on the trolly bus so it does limit us as to who can come. Those that joined us today seemed to really enjoy it. We had Kentucky fried chicken for lunch, delivered by Sadie and the weather turned out to be perfect. We love experiencing new things . Today’s trip was made possible by my volunteers . Thank you to Hillary, Denise, Lydia, Nola,and Jeri .

I have had some people ask how we afford to cover our expenses, this trip and similar ones are totally covered by the auxiliary by fund raising throughout the year for that. We sure had a lot of fun making Pickles the other day .There were many great discussions to reminisce about canning .We all agreed on a recipe and can’t wait to taste them in the up comming weeks. Some of us thought Pickles need to set a minimum of two weeks and some thought a minimum of six weeks, what is the general rule of thumb? Help us out here .
We would like to thank the local community members for donating jars, garlic, dill, and of course, the cukes .
Many thanks to our community for the fresh garden produce . I’m not always here when it comes in but I can assure you that our residents sure enjoy it .
I’m going to be looking for a few more pickle jars, large jam jars or pasta sauce jars as well . Please contact myself if you have any .

We will be starting up our new season of auxiliary meeting starting September 2 at 10 AM. Meeting will be in the the Galloway room at Iver Main Place in Central Butte .We are open to new members and look forward to growing our group . Many hands makes for light work. UPDATE: THE CLINIC IS NOW OPEN AND OPERATING

Iver Main has been helping the local Horizons clinic get moved in to our building as soon as possible. They will be in the West Wing, with their entry door accessible from the West (Butte St) parking lot. Clinic patients will be asked to use that West side door only for all clinic appts and needs.

We look forward to being a part of the solution during this time of need and thank everyone in and around the community for your continued support, patience and understanding while we continue to work towards this mission.

We are beyond blessed, to have a great auxiliary who helps fundraise to make trips like today possible. We took 2 groups to moose jaw to support the Jim Pattison Children’s Hospital Miracle Day at Dairy Queen. Days like today fill our hearts, we were able to help another organization and give our residents a pleasurable afternoon.Thank You to Denise S for also driving a group ( no pictures, she’s shy!) and to Kourtney for inviting us .Keep an eye out for our next outting , Lorine

What a wonderful afternoon we had with our new friends at the Huron Colony at Brownlee. We watched them make sauerkraut and We were treated like royalty with ice lattes and pumpkin cake with cream cheese icing.I asked if they would sing for us and they were shy at first .Rhonda started and the rest followed , man oh man their voices sounded heavenly.We brought home some lovely garden produce , pickles and CREAM!! Thank you to Ron , Rosanna and our own Rita for setting up our visit . Thanks to Deb S for coming along and helping . Untill the next adventure,Lorine

As we approach the fall season, Iver Main will be looking for a new Student Helper (or 2). This position helps with setting up for supper, serving, cleaning up, baking cookies and hanging out with the residents. This is a short 3-hour shift, typically 4-7pm. Must be 15 years of age to be considered. If you are interested, please stop by and talk to Jeri about the opportunity.
