Who me …. Well since you asked

Dilation is a snapshot of exactly that moment in time. A woman can be 3 cm dilated for weeks, or go from 4 cm to 10 cm in a matter of hours.

The cervix can change rapidly or stall for extended periods, making it impossible to use dilation as a “crystal ball” for labor timing.

Infection risk from Bacterial Introduction Inserting gloved fingers into the vaginal canal has the potential to introduce foreign bacteria. A study showed that the more cervical exams women are given the more the risk of infection goes up. The risks becomes even higher after your water has broken.

Why do I tell you this you have a right to informed consent and because they carry risks and provide limited information, many women choose to decline routine cervical checks at prenatal appointments or limit or have none of them during labor. I have witnessed women not have a single cervical check and their babies have come out in the timing.

You have the right to ask questions and be curious

Honestly I was taught this is hair school too 😅

But truly I couldn’t imagine when it comes to letting women I’m serving not get to know me on a personal level.

I love talking to clients like they are my sisters, my besties, my homies because isn’t that the amazing part of being a woman to share your heart and soul with one another. To ultimately feel seen, heard and acknowledged by the person showing up for you.

Getting to know the person deeply who is serving you during the most intimate time of your life.

Listen if you’re a doula and this isn’t how you operate, no judgement but that just isn’t in my programming

Anyone else follow that rule or am I the outlier ?

Being a doula is so much more than someone who is there for your birth & postpartum. We truly become like family and that’s the feeling I want to bring to this space.

When we find the place that our nervous system feels safest to birth choose that, whether at home or home.

Know your rights and groove into that instinctual movement in your body, find your birth zone and do what ever feels right in the moment to bring on that love hormone that is oxytocin the power house of birth.

We have to feel safe, free and in power to let that hormone rise so jam out, do some extra curricular activities with your partner, have a bath or shower in dim light and let that empowered movement start to flow 💃

Is this something you’ve thought about as a woman or a doula preparing moms for this time in their lives?!

Hi I’m Aly a mother , wife, hippy dippy gal, girls girl and over all lover of women’s health.

I’m a Holistic Birth & Ayurvedic Postpartum Doula with a wealth of knowledge under my belt.

I’m starting to feel a large pull of showing up here more authentically and unfiltered when it comes to my work with serving mothers and their families.

My mission is for mothers to tap back into their instincts and become over all more familiar with their bodies. Because knowledge is power and empowered women empower women right !?

Help them feel confident, clear, and completely surrendered to their choices when it comes to their birth and postpartum.

Guide women into securing their support teams, AKA the village people who align with your values and will actually help and support you through these major transitions.

If this sounds like something you want to follow along with as I start to be loud and proud hit follow or if you want to get really into it Comment or DM Consult for a clarity call if we would work well together.
