This door, these four walls, this heart—a safe, confidential space.
To say that in a place as small as PEI, where family and community connections are often how we relate, means that yes, we might discover we have mutual acquaintances or pass each other on the street, AND your story is safe here. I always try to make that very clear with each client who passes this threshold—what you say here stays here. There is also an ethical element where if a connection is too close, I offer to refer to a trusted colleague.
Upholding integrity is key in this work, and is what makes this room a sacred space for every client to have the freedom to share whatever is on their hearts and their minds.
