Today I had the privilege of attending Flora’s Walk in Charlottetown, a meaningful event dedicated to raising awareness about perinatal mental health and supporting families in our community.

It was inspiring to hear personal stories, learn from local organizations, and connect with individuals who are passionate about supporting parents through pregnancy, postpartum, and beyond.

At Gentle Beginnings Maternal Services, we believe that every parent deserves support, understanding, and a strong community around them. No one should have to face the challenges of pregnancy, birth, or postpartum alone.

Thank you to the organizers, speakers, volunteers, and everyone who participated in this important event. Together, we can help create a community where parents feel seen, supported, and empowered.

Join Lily Forsyths R. Ac. for a supportive, hands-on babywearing workshop designed for parents, parents to-be, and caregivers.

Babywearing can be a powerful tool for bonding, soothing, and supporting both baby and caregiver nervous systems.

In this workshop, we’ll cover:

👶🏼The benefits of babywearing for baby + parent

👶🏼Babywearing safety

👶🏼Different types of carriers, including half buckles, full buckles, ring slings, onbuhimos, and wraps

👶🏼Trusted resources for continued learning and support

👉🏼Participants are welcome to bring their own carriers to try, or to explore different styles during the workshop.

👉🏼This session is ideal for pregnant parents, new parents, and anyone supporting infants in the early months.

Andrea’s holistic postpartum preparation workshop is back for a second round! 👶🏼

In this workshop we’ll be learning about why the first 40 days postpartum are so important for lifelong wellness - for you, your baby, your family and your community💞

We’ll explore often-overlooked aspects of postpartum recovery, including the importance of diet and nutrition, warmth, restorative body care, and the essential role of community support.

You’ll have the opportunity to sample postpartum recipes, begin shaping your own postpartum menu plan, and learn a few simple body care practices with profound healing benefits - that a partner, friend, or family member can easily support you with.

Your registration includes a postpartum gift bag, and resources to help you continue your planning after the workshop.

✨ Birth Trauma Doesn’t Always Begin Later ✨

Sometimes, in the first quiet hours after birth, a mother may already feel that something isn’t quite right.

Birth trauma is not always dramatic or obvious.
Sometimes it lives in the unspoken feelings, confusion, overwhelm, or disconnection that can begin shortly after birth.

As someone who has worked closely with mothers for many years, I deeply believe that emotional support and compassionate care in the early postpartum period matter just as much as physical care.

Every mother deserves to feel:
