This week, medical students are exploring what it’s like to live, learn, and practice in Chatham-Kent through Discovery Week, hosted by the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance.

From connecting with local physicians and healthcare teams to experiencing our community firsthand, students are gaining valuable insight into the opportunities and lifestyle that make Chatham-Kent a great place to build a career in medicine.

Thank you to CKHA, the Municipality of Chatham-Kent, and our healthcare and community partners for helping students experience firsthand what makes Chatham-Kent such a great place to live, learn, and practice.💙

We had a great time at the SRPC Rural and Remote Medicine Conference connecting with medical learners and physicians from across the country!

Our focus was sharing opportunities in rural family medicine in Chatham-Kent and having meaningful conversations about what practicing in a supportive, community-driven environment can look like.

It was especially exciting to see such strong representation from Chatham-Kent, and to celebrate Dr. Lindsey Sutherland on receiving the Rural Service Award—a true reflection of the incredible care happening in our community.

Chatham-Kent Health Alliance is hosting Discovery Healthcare – A Summer Camp Experience, a one-week medical science summer camp for high school students in Southwestern Ontario interested in exploring careers in healthcare.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn from and be mentored by current medical, dental, and nursing students, while gaining insight into different healthcare professions.

✔️ Current patient attachment numbers
✔️ What’s needed to meet future demand
