Newborn exam at home ✨
No matter where your baby is born your midwife will do a head to toe newborn exam which is much more than just weights and measurements! Assessing reflexes, gestational age, physical characteristics, as well as indicators of wellbeing are all part of the typical newborn exam.... We may or may not also be counting fingers and toes 😉

Birth can be an entirely wild and fast or long and marathon-like event. Sometimes baby comes to your chest and you’re still processing what has happened, it can take a few minutes before you’re ready to really meet your baby. But when you step back into yourself and hold your own baby up to take in all their details, there is no moment in the world quite like it. 💕

We’re growing! Welcoming Kiley to the team in June 💛

Kiley is an official Registered Midwife as of today.🎉

She has been in Chilliwack for the final two years of her schooling, however, she fell for the community within the first 2 weeks of being here. Kiley pursued midwifery after working as a dietitian, her areas of interest are gestational diabetes and lactation support.

Kiley is looking forward to meeting everyone and seeing familiar faces from the last two years.

We are absolutely thrilled to welcome her to as we know how many of our patients adored her care while she was our student.

Navigating the challenges of pregnancy and new motherhood can feel overwhelming, but you don’t have to do it alone.

This isn’t just a support group — it’s group therapy for your perinatal mental health. Led by Amanda Sarich, Certified Canadian Counsellor, and Niki Nery, Student Therapist and former Labour & Delivery Nurse, this group blends professional expertise with a deep understanding of the perinatal experience.

You’ll gain:
• Cognitive Behavioural Therapy tools to challenge unhelpful thoughts
• Mindfulness and self-compassion practices to ease mom guilt
• Effective strategies to manage anxiety, overwhelm, and mom rage

It’s a safe space to connect, learn, and heal.

Meet Niki. Our newest master level practicum student. Niki has years of experience as maternity nurse. She has also taken additional training, in addition to her master degree, to work with couples as well as individual clients. We’re so glad she is here!

A word from Niki: As a student therapist, I am passionate about supporting individuals and couples through life’s challenges, including periods of increased stress, anxiety, depression, and major life transitions. Whether you’re navigating relationship dynamics, adjusting to changes in your personal life, or managing emotional stress, I offer a compassionate, non-judgmental space to explore and address these challenges.

I work collaboratively with clients to identify patterns of thought, emotion, and behavior that may be contributing to distress, and I utilize evidence-based interventions such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT) to help clients develop healthier coping strategies.

My background as a Labor and Delivery nurse has given me a unique perspective on the emotional and physical challenges that come with major life transitions, especially the perinatal and postpartum periods. My nursing experience has deepened my understanding of the complexities surrounding childbirth, parenthood, and the adjustment to life after baby, both physically and emotionally.

Whether you’re coping with stress, anxiety, relationship dynamics, or adjusting to new roles, I’m here to support you with evidence-based tools and a holistic approach to your well-being.”
