First place for Team Cochrane Movie House x Cochrane Emergency Training at the Kelly Carson Memorial Golf Tournament hosted by the Cochrane Chamber of Commerce!

Alex fought through the nerves and pressure to impress our amazing landlord, Hal. He played like our rent depended on it…

The trophy will be entering an official shared-custody agreement.

We have officially hired our 6 year old as CETS new CVO. (chief vacuuming officer)

Before anyone calls the labour board, she’s paid entirely in Cochrane Movie House popcorn and she has no complaints.

Our kids may have a slightly questionable childhood…

They’ve grown up thinking mannequins are just part of the family, and finding random body parts in the storage room isn’t necessarily cause for concern.

But one thing they’ll ALWAYS understand is what it means to be a local, family owned business.

They’re growing up watching Mom and Dad build something from the ground up, get involved in our community, and support the people and businesses around us.

They’re little now, but hopefully one day they’ll look back and realize they got to watch their parents build something together, support other local businesses, and create something that’s truly our own.

We hope they’ll grow up understanding the value of hard work, community, supporting local, and building something you’re proud of.

And honestly, if they ever have to perform CPR, we’re feeling pretty confident.

BIG NEWS at CETS!

We’ve been working toward this one for a while, and we’re excited to finally say it:

Canadian Red Cross Remote First Aid AND Wilderness First Aid are now available at CETS!

These courses are designed for people who spend time beyond immediate access to medical care, whether that’s working in remote locations, guiding, camping, hiking, paddling, skiing, travelling in the backcountry or leading outdoor groups.

Remote First Aid
20 hours of hands-on training focused on managing injuries and medical emergencies when help may be hours away.

Wilderness First Aid
80 hours of comprehensive training for those who need a higher level of preparedness for extended time in the backcountry and remote environments.

Both courses are taught through the Canadian Red Cross and bring a practical, scenario-based approach to managing emergencies when you can’t simply call 911 and wait for help to arrive.

Our THIRD instructor introduction this week, and we couldn’t be more excited to welcome Carolyn to the team!
Carolyn will be teaching our Wilderness and Remote First Aid courses, bringing more than 10 years of experience teaching and leading people in the outdoors, along with her years of volunteering with Calgary Search and Rescue.

Her background in outdoor recreation, paddling, skiing, hiking and backcountry travel brings a ton of real-world experience to the classroom. We’re excited to have her sharing that experience with our students and helping people feel confident handling emergencies when help may be hours away.

Adding Wilderness & Remote First Aid AND Advanced First Aid to our course offerings was our goal for 2026 - Now the goal is to fill these classes!

It’s been a big year for CETS, and we’re proud of how much we’ve grown right here in our community.
