Some children are not “bad at maths”. They are trying to make sense of something their brain processes differently.

Dyscalculia is often missed or misunderstood. A child may struggle to tell which number is bigger, forget simple maths facts, lose track of steps, or find everyday tasks like telling the time or handling money overwhelming. With pressure, they can shut down, avoid learning, or become anxious and frustrated.

This is not laziness. It is not low intelligence. Many children with dyscalculia are capable, creative, and strong in other areas - they just need maths taught in a different way.

What makes the biggest difference is how adults respond. Slowing things down, using real-life examples, reducing pressure, and focusing on effort instead of speed can help a child feel safe enough to keep trying. Early understanding can protect confidence and prevent long-term anxiety around learning.

When a child says “I just do not get it”, it is often a sign they need support, not more pressure.

Taking responsibility isn't about being perfect.

It's about being honest when we mess up.

Most relationship conflicts escalate because we defend instead of owning our part.

These phrases aren't scripts to memorize.

They're examples of what real accountability sounds like when you're committed to your partnership over being right.

Like this if you needed to hear it today and follow for more real talk on relationships.

Ever feel like life costs extra when you have ADHD? 💸 That’s the “ADHD tax” — the unexpected expenses we are taxed with resulting from overwhelm, forgetfulness, and executive dysfunction.

ADHD tax is real — and it adds up.
It’s not just about money, but about the emotional toll of trying to keep up. It’s not about laziness or carelessness — it’s about living in a world that isn’t designed for ADHD brains.

Small changes, understanding, structure, and self-compassion can make a big difference. Be gentle with yourself. You’re doing your best, and support can help make life feel a little lighter. 💛

Does this resonate with you?
Resting is balance, self-care, listening to your body; but for those who grew up hearing/seeing worth measured by productivity and rest framed as "laziness", resting can trigger feelings of guilt, discomfort, and even shame.

We can deconstruct these beliefs together ❤️
