Homebirth and waterbirth available. Midwives provide free, expert care during pregnancy and for six week after the baby is born. It is free to see a midwife. Midwives are paid by the Ontario Ministry of Health and Long-Term Care. Midwives see pregnancy and birth as a healthy time in your life
All through pregnancy, labour, birth and the first six weeks of your baby's life, you will be cared for by

a small group of midwives. This means that you are likely to know the midwife who delivers your baby

Midwives Nottawasaga covers a large rural catchment area of approximately 3200 km2. This allows our clients to choose the location that best meets their needs. The Collingwood clinic is located at 9811A Beachwood Road, and midwives who work out of this location offer births at home or the Collingwood General and Marine Hospital (CGMH).

Our annual client picnic is happening on Thursday, September 17, from 5:00–7:00 PM at the Sunset Point Pavilion, and we hope you’ll join us!

Bring your family, a dish to share for our potluck, and your own plates and cutlery. It’s one of our favourite evenings of the year—a chance to reconnect, catch up, and see how much all of the babies have grown.

🎨 A face painter will be there for the kids, and the event will take place rain or shine.

We can’t wait to spend the evening with everyone. See you there! 💚

Join us in welcoming Caroline to our team! Caroline will be joining Pod 1 and you can learn more about her in her own words:

I’m Caroline (she/her), a midwife from Guelph, Ontario. I’ve had the chance to learn and work in a variety of midwifery settings—rural and urban communities, and with families planning both home and hospital births—and I’m so excited to bring those experiences into my role at Midwives Nottawasaga.

What I love most about midwifery is getting to know people over time and supporting them through pregnancy, birth, and the early weeks postpartum in a way that feels calm, respectful, and truly personalised. I’m passionate about informed choice and clear communication, and I want you to feel confident in your options and supported in whatever path your care takes. I have a specific interest in health teaching and, in true midwifery fashion, I’m always happy to answer questions about pregnancy, birth, and the body - no matter how big or small. I think education is the greatest tool for empowerment!

Outside of work, you can find me cuddled up with my two cats and picking up a new hobby or interest. I’m always learning and love to stay curious!

Our next Choice of Birthplace information night is Tuesday June 30th at 6pm. This is an in-person workshop held at the clinic, where you can ask questions about homebirth and see the midwives equipment.
