The perinatal period is one of the biggest transitions a couple can experience.

Between fertility challenges, pregnancy, loss, postpartum recovery, sleep deprivation, and changing identities, it’s normal for relationships to feel stretched at times.

Struggling doesn’t mean you’re failing. It means you’re navigating something significant together.

A little support, understanding, and intentional connection can go a long way.

The perinatal season of life (TTC, pregnancy, postpartum, and parenthood) can be heavy and unpredictable. So many folks struggle with the weight of:

The mental load.
The appointments.
The uncertainty.
The identity shifts.
The grief.
The love.

You don’t have to carry it perfectly.

What is one thing you need more of this week: rest, support, patience, or compassion?

As the days grow longer and the weather softens, there can be an invitation to slow down a little too. To step outside, take a deeper breath, and notice what it feels like to move through this season with a bit more gentleness. Today would have been my dad’s 76th birthday. I share this not for sympathy but to normalize the subtle and not-so-subtle ways grief shows up in our lives

My dad has been gone a few years. I have moved through my my grief in so many ways but I still find myself longing to bake him a cake today. So that we can bond over our shared love of baking while listening to Neil Young and celebrating his birthday.

Grief never really goes away but our life grows around it. So here’s to you, dad.
