We’re proud to share a new article from JTA News highlighting ICRF-supported scientists advancing critical colorectal cancer research 🗞️

As this disease rises among younger populations and remains two to three times more prevalent in Ashkenazi Jews, their work in early detection, treatment, and understanding genetic risk is more urgent than ever.

Researchers like Nir London, a drug discovery expert working to target the specific mutations that drive cancer growth, are helping push this work forward, bringing us closer to more effective, less toxic treatments.

Researchers at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology have developed a groundbreaking AI model that can predict whether breast cancer patients will benefit from chemotherapy using routine pathology samples instead of costly, time-consuming genomic tests 🧬

For the thousands of Canadians diagnosed with breast cancer each year, this kind of innovation means faster decisions, fewer unnecessary treatments, and better outcomes. At ICRF, this is exactly the future we're funding.

Skin cancer is one of the most common cancers worldwide, and cases are rising. At ICRF, researchers like Prof. Emily Avitan-Hersh are working to change that 👇

Prof. Avitan-Hersh is the Director of Dermatology and Head of the Melanoma Surveillance Program at Rambam Health Care Campus - Hospital in Israel. Through the Daisy Ge**er Memorial Project Grant, she is investigating a key receptor called CXCR7 and how it affects tumor growth and the immune system's ability to fight skin cancer. Her goal: to improve the effectiveness of immunotherapy for patients with advanced squamous cell carcinoma, one of the most aggressive forms of skin cancer.

This is what the answer to cancer looks like.
