Jerry Werger’s story is one of strength, leadership, and hope. A respected business leader, philanthropist, and dedicated supporter of Israel, Jerry has spent decades giving back to his community and championing causes close to his heart.

Jerry faced a life-changing diagnosis: an incurable form of cancer. Thanks to early medical intervention and groundbreaking research developed at the Technion - Israel Institute of Technology in Israel—supported through ICRF funding—Jerry received life-saving treatment and underwent a stem cell transplant.

In 2025, he was the recipient of the Hayden Solomons Award of Distinction celebrating extraordinary leadership, generosity, and lasting impact. His story is not only one of survival, but of living with purpose, celebrating family, and continuing to inspire others through resilience and gratitude 🙏

Dr. Nabieh Ayoub’s ICRF-funded work is exploring how targeting RBM10 deficiency in lung cancer could open the door to new treatment approaches 🫁

By using advanced tools like CRISPR and developing small-molecule drugs, his research aims to identify therapies that can more effectively target tumours that currently have limited options.

Dr. Ayoub’s work has the potential to expand treatment strategies not only for lung cancer, but for a broader range of cancers as well. This is why funding research matters: to uncover new pathways, develop innovative therapies, and create more possibilities for patients.

What an incredible evening in Edmonton. 🙏

Last week, Prof. Tali Ilovitsh was graciously hosted by Debbie Anson and her loved ones, a gathering made even more meaningful as Debbie's support of Prof. Ilovitsh's grant is dedicated to the memory of her beloved husband, Howard 'zl.

Prof. Ilovitsh is developing non-invasive, ultrasound-based technologies for cancer diagnosis and therapy, with a focus on treating brain tumours research at the true cutting edge of cancer science.

Meet Dr. Assaf Zinger, an ICRF-funded researcher at the הטכניון - מכון טכנולוגי לישראל | Technion developing biomimetic nanoparticles that mimic how white blood cells naturally target cancer, with a focus on triple-negative breast cancer, one of the most aggressive subtypes.

Instead of attacking cancer cells directly, Dr. Zinger's nanotechnology targets the environment around the tumor blocking the cancer's ability to hijack the immune system and use it against the body.

This is why funding research matters: to uncover new pathways, develop innovative therapies, and create more possibilities for patients.

Rather than letting cancer define her story, Farla transformed her experience into advocacy, empowerment, and purpose.
