✨Now is the time to invest in your mental health and wellness.🦋

🌱 I know first hand the impact anxiety and depression can have when it’s out of control, that impact chronic stress can have on the body and mind when it isn’t managed.

🌱 Ongoing chronic stress and anxiety has a rippling effect on those around us, on our families, our relationships, our children.

🌱 What I have seen through personal experience and my work with others is that old patterns can be broken, new pathways can be created, and it is never too late to make change.

🌱 Consistency and repetition of new approaches, patterns, and behaviours over a period of time is what creates new neural pathways in the brain and what facilitates long lasting change.

🌱 It's not about perfection
or never feeling stressed
or anxious.

🌱 You can process these feelings in a helpful way,
how to know yourself,
how to come back to yourself,
how to listen,
and how to come back to that grounded presence that exists in all of us.

✨ When a parent, a partner, a co-worker, a friend knows their inward world well, when they are able to regulate, to be attuned, to be present it can spark a new path for the children we lovingly parent, the partner’s we have committed to, and the places we choose to work and live. ✨

Will you join me?

✨ Early bird pricing ends Dec 31st. DM me to lock into the pricing and we'll schedule your discovery call. 🦋

✨ EMDR is not traditional talk therapy ⬇️

🌱 It is highly recognized as an effective treatment for trauma and PTSD.

🌱 EMDR stands for Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing.

🌱 EMDR uses bilateral movement (meaning left to right movement such as eyes moving left to right) to help process traumatic events. It taps into a client's system and its natural ability to heal itself.

🌱 EMDR helps the brain process traumatic memory and material so that it no longer effects clients in the present. It works with memory, beliefs, parts, and nervous system responses.

🌱 The beauty of EMDR is that it not only targets the traumatic memories stored in the mind and nervous system but also helps shift unhelpful beliefs clients may hold about themselves. These unhelpful beliefs often developed from past traumatic events and experiences; clients shift from unhelpful beliefs to more helpful ones.

🌱 Through EMDR I have seen clients gain a sense of control and agency over their life. I have witnessed incredible transformation as clients are less reactive and triggered, anxiety is reduced ,and they are able to feel a sense of wholeness and empowerment.

🌱 EMDR is best known and used for treating trauma and PTSD however it can also be used to treat anxiety, panic attacks, depression, phobias and performance anxiety.

✨There really are so many ways to wholeness, healing and change and this is just one of them 🦋

✨ New to meditation? ✨

Here are some tips to help you get started 🧘🏻‍♀️

🌱 Make it as simple and as comfortable as possible (even if it's lying in bed before you start you day or a one minute walking meditation when walking the dog). Make it small and doable.

🌱 Release expectations, practice non-judgement, think of the process rather than being attached to outcome.

🌱 Try shorter periods of time more often, even 1-5 minutes daily can have huge benefits.

🌱 Let your breath be your anchor, when thoughts show up, acknowledge the mind thinking and come back to focusing on your breath.

🌱 Be compassionate and kind to yourself. Any moment spent in awareness of your breath, tuning into your body, and slowing down is creating change. Be gentle with yourself.

✨ Why I love yoga and it may not be for the reasons you think 🤔

🌱 Nervous system regulation - When I was struggling with anxiety and depression it was yoga that helped calm my system down enough to figure out what was happening for me and what I needed. Through yoga I learned how to be with the sensations, emotions, and thoughts I was experiencing and how to work with them in a way that was helpful.

🌱 Trauma processing - Trauma is stored in the body and nervous system. Many who struggle with trauma may not feel safe in their bodies. The combination of slow steady breath, movement, and tuning into the present moment can help people learn to feel safe in their bodies again. A regular practice can help strengthen the parasympathetic nervous system (think rest/digest) as well as help trauma survivors learn how to move into regulation and safety. When working with yoga, the body, and trauma it is best to work with a professional skilled in trauma work and somatic therapy.

🌱 Connection to self - We are bombarded by images, screens, schedules, and activities daily, the fast paced nature of the culture and the world we live in can disconnect us from ourselves and each other. A regular practice of sitting with self, tuning into the breath, and moving into presence can have huge benefits.

🌱 Awareness - one of the first steps in counselling is to begin to gain a greater awareness and understanding of self and others. Yoga can help you become more aware of the body and mind. The more this is practiced the more you may be able to slow things down and respond rather than react, a huge strength in relationships. 🦋

✨ We can be our biggest critics and the hardest on ourselves.

Give yourself a little grace today, talk to yourself like you would to someone you loved and cared for.

Notice when you come to yourself from a place of love and compassion the difference you feel in your body and nervous system ✨

Be kind to yourself today, you are equally deserving of the love and compassion you give others 🙏🏻

Save for when you need that little reminder 🤍
