What does Manual Osteopathy feel like?
At Ithaca Wellness, Max adapts each treatment to you - checking in, adjusting pressure and working at a pace that feels comfortable. You’re welcome to ask questions, ask for a lighter touch or pause at any time.
You might feel gentle, steady pressure through my hands, a slow stretch through a muscle or a joint being guided through small, comfortable movements. Some techniques feel like gentle rocking; others involve quieter, sustained contact.
You can let your body be supported as I guide the movement. Depending on the area we’re working with, you may notice a stretching sensation, warmth or tension release. Your feedback always guides the session - we can ease the pressure, change position or pause whenever you need.
As treatment progresses, you may notice yourself settling into the table, breathing more easily or feeling less tense. There is always room to talk, ask questions or simply enjoy a quiet moment.
Afterwards, you may feel relaxed, a little looser or more comfortable moving. Some people feel sleepy; others feel refreshed. Everyone responds differently and temporary tenderness can sometimes occur.
My aim is to make the experience attentive, reassuring and suited to you - from the first contact to the moment you get back on your feet.
Whether you’re looking for support with everyday aches, chronic pain, headaches & migraine, body tensions or simply a chance to unwind, you’re welcome here.
