The principle in this video is Aparigraha (non-grasping) one of the five Yamas in the Yoga Sutras of Patanjali.
One thing I didnât say in the video: in the yogic tradition, Aparigraha is considered the practice that makes fearlessness possible. Patanjali says that when non-grasping becomes steady, you gain insight into the âhow and whyâ of your own life. Because everything you cling to is something you are afraid to lose, and the moment you stop clinging, that particular fear has nowhere left to live.
So if you want a small practice this week: notice the one thing you are gripping hardest right now. And just loosen your hold by ten percent. Not all of it. Ten percent. See what opens.
