A fun fact about me that you might not know: I used to run a travel blog documenting my adventures around the world as a solo female backpacker. I visited 22 countries, staying in hostels and discovering hidden gems along the way. My goal was to visit all of my dream turquoise destinations, and it was a success beyond my wildest imagination.

Today, the dream continues. Although I’m no longer travelling full-time, I still find time to get away. This summer, I visited my 36th country!

Aside from running my small business in South Eastern Ontario, I still love to write whenever I have the time. My most recent blog for South Eastern Ontario Tourism, “Fall Sips: Where to Get a Cozy Coffee,” showcases my home region, including Stormont, Dundas & Glengarry, Cornwall, and Prescott & Russell.

💫TWO WEEKS AWAY💫 — Join us for this special series!

🌿Held & Supported: Prenatal and Postpartum Supportive Yoga for Parents & Babies

Over 8 weeks, we invite you into a warm, supportive space where movement, breath, and community weave together to offer nourishment for your whole being. This is not about “getting back” to anything. It is about gently returning to yourself.

Led by Birth & Postpartum Doula and certified yoga instructor Jessica Palmquist, this slow‑flow, beginner‑friendly class offers spacious, accessible practices designed specifically for pregnant and postpartum bodies. Each session blends breath‑linked movement and mindful pauses — all held within a community of fellow parents and parents to be who understand the tenderness of this season.

You are welcome exactly as you are.

If you need to pause to nurse, soothe, rock, or change your baby, you are supported. If your little one needs to wiggle, coo, or be held the entire class, that is welcomed too.

Throughout the series, we’ll explore themes such as connection, gratitude, balance, flexibility, playfulness, letting go, and community — meeting you where you are each week, and honouring the truth that healing and well‑being are woven, not separate.

A baby‑friendly play mat, toys, and books will be available, along with a change‑table station for your convenience.

Suggested for non-crawling babies under 12 months, but if you feel this class is suitable for your baby we invite you to join us.

Not every season needs to be about doing more. Sometimes, it’s about spending a little more time outside, rushing a little less, and making room for the things that make life feel good.

This time of year always reminds me how much beauty there is in the simple things. Time with family, fresh air, meaningful work, and those quiet moments when we can just be.

A reminder that we don’t always need to be striving for the next thing. Sometimes, we can simply enjoy the season we’re in.

Begin with gentle yoga stretching to settle into your body, followed by a hands-on aromatherapy wellness bracelet workshop where you’ll create your own bracelet using natural lava stone and seasonal colours. Come slow down, reconnect with nature and your creativity, and enjoy a meaningful afternoon of movement, aromatherapy, connection, and self-care.

Today I got caught in the rain on my daily walk.

I was already on my way home, but I was only halfway through my walk and by the time I realized how hard it was raining, I was literally soaked.

What I didn’t do was panic or overreact.

I didn’t run. I didn’t rush. I simply welcomed the cool rain on my skin and kept walking.

It reminded me that sometimes, life doesn’t go according to plan. You can’t always plan for perfect weather. Storms will come and go, and it’s not necessarily the storm itself that matters, but how we choose to move through it.

The rain reminded me that every storm can be a fresh start. A new beginning. An invitation to pause, become present, and trust that we can keep moving forward, one small baby step at a time.

This analogy is symbolic of so many journeys and new chapters in life.

I encourage you to embrace the rain. Welcome it, even.

Let it teach you presence. Let it teach you resilience. Let it remind you that you don’t need to know exactly what’s coming next to keep taking the next step.

This simple mindfulness approach is something that has helped me move through many storms I once didn’t think I would ever get through.

So, thinking of you today on this dreary Wednesday, wherever you are and whatever you may be moving through.

Whether you’re navigating a transition through fertility, pregnancy, postpartum, or building a business and stepping into a new chapter of entrepreneurship, you don’t have to have it all figured out.

Sometimes the next step is simply to slow down, breathe, stay present, and take one small baby step forward.
