Can’t quite focus on your book or phone screen lately? Hyperopia (farsightedness) could be the reason 👀📚

With hyperopia, distance vision is often clear, but close-up tasks can become blurry or cause eye strain. This happens when the eye is slightly too short, causing light to focus behind the retina instead of directly on it.

Many people don’t notice hyperopia when they’re younger because the eyes can naturally compensate — but as we age, that focusing ability decreases.

The good news? Hyperopia can often be corrected with glasses, contact lenses, or in some cases, surgery!

Your pupils are constantly adjusting throughout the day! In bright light they get smaller, and in dim lighting they expand to help you see better. Tiny muscles inside your iris are working behind the scenes every second to make it happen.

The eye really is an incredible little system. 💙
