When we're moving too fast, we miss a lot of what's around us. Once I really started to slow down and take things in, I became enthralled with nature.
This moment with the butterfly I captured at a women's festival in June. I was working, and taking moments where I could to rest and recharge. I watched it move between flowers for a good ten minutes.
I have these moments a lot now, and find myself looking for them. The other day I was at the beach and watched a fly digging in the sand for a good five minutes. I was mesmerized by the little creature, searching or maybe burying something. I'd never stopped to look before.
There's something so restful to me about tuning into moments like these. It reminds me how much we fill our days, when creatures like this butterfly, or a small fly, do so little and seem perfectly content.
What in nature grabs your attention?
Can you find a nature moment of rest from the rush?
