David John White
March 9, 1941 — May 31, 2026

With heavy hearts, the family of David John “Dave” White announces his passing on May 31, 2026, in Cranbrook, British Columbia, at the age of 85.

Dave was born on March 9, 1941, in Vita, Manitoba, to Thomas and Emily White. He moved to Cranbrook as a teenager, where he would later meet his wife, Joanne, and build the life and family that meant so much to him.

Dave spent many years working as an automotive mechanic, a trade well suited to his practical nature and steady hands. In retirement, he enjoyed the simple routines and comforts of home: his daily walks to visit with neighbours, time spent with family, the companionship of his beloved cat, Pattison, and many hours tending the large vegetable garden he shared with Joanne.

Dave will be lovingly remembered by his wife, Joanne; his children, Todd, Cheryl, and Rhonda; his grandchildren, Brittany, Cody, Ian, Amber, and Trista; and his great-grandson, Kaleb. He was predeceased by his parents, Thomas and Emily; his siblings, Donald, Louie, Shirley, and Evelyn; and his daughter, Jeannie.

In keeping with Dave’s wishes, no funeral service will be held.

In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the SPCA.

The family would like to extend their sincere gratitude to Dr. Post for his care and support, and to the first responders for their compassion and kindness.

Grace Karen Moss
February 14, 1934 — May 28, 2026

It is with great sadness that the family of Grace Karen Moss (nee: Greenlay) announce her passing.

Grace was born in Saskatchewan on February 14, 1934 and passed away peacefully at Joseph Creek Care Village in Cranbrook, BC on May 28, 2026.

Grace was predeceased by her loving husband Gordon Moss, Sr. in 2011 and her youngest son Randy Moss in 2008.

Grace is survived by 2 sons, Gord Moss Jr. (Chris), Reg Moss (Carolyn), 1 daughter Debbie Richert (Clayton), 8 grandchildren, and 7 great-grandchildren. In addition, Grace is survived by 3 sisters, 2 brothers and many nieces and nephews.

Grace was all about family, not only raising her own kids, but also taking on the task of grand “parenting” many of her grandkids so us parents could work. There were many great family dinners, filled with fabulous food and tons of laughter. Grace had a laugh that was like no other and she was loved by everyone who was fortunate enough to know her. She loved music and singing, visiting over coffee and catching up on all the latest family news. She taught us how you could enjoy life with just the simplest things. The world was a better place with her in it and she will be missed deeply.

Our family is so grateful to Dr. Witten and all the staff at Joseph Creek Village for their care and dedication over the years.

A Celebration of Grace’s life will be held at the Royal Canadian Legion in Cranbrook, BC on Sunday July 19, 2026 at 2pm.

Richard “Rick” Harold Daniels, beloved husband, father, grandfather, brother, and friend, passed away on May 25, 2026, after a short battle with cancer.

Some of his happiest moments were quiet evenings watching old movies, wiener roasts with family and friends, hunting and fishing trips, and hiking in the mountains with his grandsons.

A devoted disciple of Jesus Christ, Rick served faithfully in many callings within The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, offering his best in every assignment.

A memorial service will be held at a later date in Cranbrook.

Bradley William Couttie
September 11, 1964 — May 18, 2026

It is with deep sadness that we announce the sudden passing of Bradley William Couttie on May 18, 2026, at the age of 61.

Brad was born in Moose Jaw, Saskatchewan, and made his home in Cranbrook, British Columbia, where he built not only buildings and businesses, but also lifelong friendships and a lasting impact on his community.

Brad was predeceased by his loving parents Bill and Verna Couttie, as well as his brother Tom. Brad was a loving husband to Linda Lepine. Together, Brad and Linda shared not only the same birthday, but also a lifetime of memories, matching scars, laughter, and love. He was a proud father to Misty (Dave), Desiree (Connor), Dionne (Mark), and Jason, and an incredibly devoted grandfather to Dylynn, Aubree, Kinslee, Mira, Linden, Logan, and Lucas, who were truly the lights of his life.

He will also be deeply missed by his siblings Shawn, Cheryl, Kristi, and Tim, along with many extended family members and countless friends who became family over the years.

Music was woven into Brad’s soul from a young age. He was playing in bars before he was even old enough to legally be there. Brad spent his life sharing his talent and passion with many bands, including The Kick Kass Kowboys, Freewill, Sensation, The Black Diamond Band, Diamond Back, and The Bookends. Whether on stage or among friends, Brad had a way of bringing people together. Music brought him great happiness, especially when shared with his bandmates Les, Don, Wilf, Brad P, Mike, Boyd, Lowell and many others.

A gifted builder by trade, Brad helped construct several buildings and restaurants throughout Cranbrook, leaving pieces of himself throughout the community he loved so much. He was also a proud member of the Eagles Branch and gave generously of his time through memorials, fundraisers, and community events, while creating jam sessions for local musicians to join and enjoy.
Above all else, Brad loved his family fiercely. He was the kind of Dad who always checked in, made sure everyone felt valued, and reminded the people around him that they were loved. He cherished every moment spent with those closest to him—whether making wine with his son-in-law Dave at “The D & B Wine Co.,” making memories with his family on the deck, sharing life with the love of his life Linda, enjoying Saturday beers with one of his best friends, Terry, or finding comfort in the companionship of his beloved pets, Tipper and Casey. These were the moments he treasured the most.

Brad will be remembered for his music, his laughter, his generosity, his stories, and the way he made people feel seen and cared for. The world is quieter without him, but the love and memories he leaves behind will carry on through everyone who knew him. Brad always said, “If I die tomorrow, know that I lived a good life and died happy.”

He was reunited with Grandma, Grandpa, Tom, Greaser, Kramer and Lewis, who were there to greet him with open arms.

A celebration of Brad’s life will take place at the Eagles Hall in Cranbrook BC on July 4, 2026, 4:00 pm - ???. There will be a party and a jam session, just as he would have wanted.

“Raise a little hell.”

Elia Barre
April 1, 1931 — May 6, 2026

It is with great sadness we share the passing of Elia Barre. We will miss her greatly, but she leaves us with many wonderful memories. Elia passed peacefully on May 06, 2026, surrounded by her loving family.

Elia was born April 1st, 1931, in Kimberley BC, where she was raised and spent her youth.

After completing high school Elia moved to Vancouver BC to attend St Paul’s Hospital school of nursing. Her nursing career took her to hospitals in Washington State, Vancouver Island and Cranbrook BC.

Elia returned to Kimberley in 1954 where she met her great love, Gerry Barre. They married in 1956 and had three children. Elia put her nursing career on hold while she focused on raising their family. She then returned to her nursing career and retired after working at the Pines (Kimberley Special Care Home).

Elia loved the lifestyle Kimberley brought her and her family. She enjoyed golf in the spring and summers; she cross country skied in the winters. Elia was a huge Dynamiter fan, often leaving Gerry at home while she headed down to the Civic Centre on game nights to cheer on her favorite team.

She had an amazing group of friends that further enriched her wonderful life.

We would like to thank the nurses, care aides, and all staff at the ‘Pines’ for taking such good care of Elia over the last 5 years.
Elia is lovingly remembered by her children, Brian (Alana), Alan (Marina), Janice (Douglas). Grandchildren, Jessica, Ciara, Max, Alex, Emma (Kaleb), and great granddaughter Olyvia.

She was predeceased by her parents, Rosina and Alex Fabbro and her brother Attilio Fabbro.

A private service for immediate family will be held in the coming months.

Jim lived a life marked by strength, resilience, hard work, and dedication to his family and community. Born on August 14, 1936, he faced many hardships throughout his life, including being separated from his family at a young age and suffering memory loss connected to those early years. Despite the challenges he endured, Jim carried on with determination and courage.
