Last week, Oakwood proudly celebrated the Legion's 100th anniversary with a week of special events honoring its remarkable legacy. We were delighted to welcome the Andrew Sisters, who entertained our residents with a memorable performance, and David Crocker, who shared an incredible collection of WWII artifacts and exhibits for everyone to enjoy. We also extend our sincere thanks to Gordon Foster, Sergeant-at-Arms of the Somme Branch Legion, for joining us as part of our Poppy Tribute Concert.

A special thank you to Global Television for visiting Oakwood and highlighting the incredible volunteers who dedicate countless hours to creating our annual Remembrance Day poppy display. This meaningful project is truly a community effort, and we are deeply grateful to everyone who contributes. From the volunteers who knit, crochet, and quilt each individual poppy to those who carefully repair and sew every poppy onto the canvas, your time, talent, and dedication help bring this beautiful tribute to life each year.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this celebration so memorable.

Last week we turned back the clock with a groovy 70's & 80's themed musical party! 🎶✨ Our residents enjoyed an afternoon filled with classic hits, plenty of smiles, and wonderful memories as they reminisced about the music and fun of decades gone by. We even broke out some disco dance moves! Thank you to everyone who helped make this event so special and brought so much joy to our residents. Another Oakwood celebration to remember! ❤️
