A little stack of autumn arrived yesterday.

The printed copies of the Autumn Seasonal Letter are here, along with the ritual cards and seasonal reflection cards, and I’m in that lovely in-between moment of gathering, sorting, and beginning to put everything together.

There is something special about seeing these pieces move from screen to paper.

The first Seasonal Letter will be shared on September 1.

More soon.

Two words.
One name.

Willie Nelson.

A date with a legend.

This one was a bucket-list kind of yes.

The kind of yes that comes from thinking, how many chances will I have to be in the same room as someone like this?

Someone who has lived a whole lifetime inside music.
Someone whose voice is unmistakable.
Someone who carries that rare kind of presence that does not need to prove anything.

The curtain dropped, and there he was.

Willie Nelson.

And in that moment — the little heart-stop, the small gasp, the flutter in the chest, and the very real thought:

Oh my God.

It’s Willie Nelson.

There were songs that seemed to carry another time with them.
Songs that felt like old radios, open roads, kitchen tables, family memories, and a time you may not have lived exactly, but somehow still recognize.

There were songs that made me smile.

And a few that made me cry.

Not every pause is quiet.

Some pauses have music, crowds, awe, tears, laughter, a curtain dropping, a legend with a guitar, and the deep gladness of saying yes to something you may never get to do again.

A closer look at one of the fall class options:

Restorative Yoga

This is the rest class.

Restorative Yoga is quiet, supported, and deeply restful. The body is held with blankets, bolsters, and props so that you can settle into each posture with as little effort as possible.

The poses are held longer, giving the body time to soften into support and the mind time to quiet.

This class may be a good fit if you are craving:

deep rest
quiet
softness
support
a slower evening rhythm
a place to pause
a weekly space where you can stop doing for a while

Restorative Yoga is offered Wednesday and Thursday evenings at 7:00 p.m.
Classes are 75 minutes.

The first fall session begins September 23/24.

Registration opens Monday, August 24.

Favorite Thrift Finds No. 1: The 1978 Crewel Picture

One of my favorite second-hand finds from this summer is a crewel picture I found at an antique shop outside Winnipeg.

I had been keeping my eye out for one for a while.

And then there it was — tucked into a stack of old pictures, waiting behind frames and forgotten landscapes.

I knew what it was the moment I saw it.

The colour.
The texture.
The stitching.
The unmistakable handmade detail of a 1970s crewel piece.

I pulled it from the pile with that particular kind of excitement that only happens when you find the thing you have quietly been hoping to find.

I have always loved pieces from that design era — the warmth, the character, the sense that someone’s hands and time are still somehow present in the object.

But when I turned it over, there was a small note on the back.

A to/from.
A year.

1978.

And suddenly it felt like more than a pretty thrifted piece.

Someone made it.
Someone gave it.
Someone received it.
Someone kept it long enough for it to travel almost fifty years and find its way into the corner of an antique shop, and then into my hands.

I often say this is why I love second-hand things.

They seem to arrive with a soul of their own.

A little energy.
A little mystery.
A bit of history.
And, if they could talk, probably a lifetime’s worth of stories.

There is something beautiful about bringing home an object that has already belonged somewhere else.

Something that has been held, chosen, kept, passed along, and somehow found its way here.

And then, if we are lucky, we get to carry it forward for a while.

Do you have a second-hand piece in your home that makes you wonder about its story?

A closer look at one of the fall class options:

Slow Strength, Stretch & Mobility

This is the movement class.
It is slow, steady, and beginner-friendly, with a focus on building strength, balance, flexibility, mobility, and body awareness.

The pace is gentle, but it is still active.
We move slowly enough that there is time to notice what is happening in the body, make adjustments, use props, and find a version of the movement that feels supportive.

This class may be a good fit if you are looking for:

more strength
more mobility
better balance
a gentle way to move
support after a less active season
a beginner-friendly place to start
a weekly rhythm that helps you feel steadier in your body

Fall classes begin September 23/24.

Registration opens Monday, August 24.

Wondering which fall yoga class might be the right fit?

Here is the simple difference:

Slow Strength, Stretch & Mobility is the movement class.

It is slow, steady, beginner-friendly, and focused on gentle strength, stretching, balance, mobility, and body awareness.

This may be a good fit if you want to move more, feel steadier, build confidence, and support your body in a gentle but active way.

Restorative Yoga is the rest class.

It is quiet, supported, and deeply restful. The body is held with blankets and bolsters, and poses are held longer so there is time to settle into stillness and support.

This may be a good fit if you are craving rest, quiet, softness, and a place to be held by the practice rather than doing more.

Some people are clearly drawn to one.

Some people are curious about both.

Fall classes begin September 23/24.

Registration opens Monday, August 24.

If you are unsure where you fit, you are welcome to send me a message.
