On New Year's Day 2024, Rosy came to Delta Hospital because she wasn't feeling quite right. Thanks to the expertise and quick actions of the care team, she learned she was having a heart attack and received the care she needed. Following treatment, including the placement of two stents, Rosy made a full recovery and returned home to her family, career, and community.

In gratitude for the exceptional care she received, Rosy selected Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation as the recipient of a $5,000 gift through Gore Mutual Insurance's community giving program. We are deeply grateful to Rosy and Gore Mutual for turning a personal story of gratitude into meaningful support for local healthcare.

This Respiratory Care Week, we're recognizing the dedicated respiratory therapy team at Delta Hospital, whose expertise and compassion help patients receive the care they need.

With support from TB Vets, new AIRVO 3 high-flow oxygen therapy units are enhancing patient care while providing valuable learning opportunities for employed student respiratory therapists beginning their careers. We recently spoke with Tracey Trouwborst, Respiratory Therapist at Delta Hospital, about the impact this equipment has had on patient care, staff safety, and training the next generation of respiratory therapists.

Together, innovative equipment and dedicated staff are helping strengthen respiratory care for our community. Thank you to our respiratory therapy team for all that you do!

Thank you to the Delta Hospital Auxiliary Society for their generous donation of $850,000 in support of 2026/27 priority equipment needs across the Delta Hospital Campus of Care. This contribution will help fund essential equipment and patient care enhancements, ensuring our healthcare teams have the tools they need to deliver exceptional care close to home.

For more than 50 years, the Auxiliary’s volunteers have been making a meaningful difference in the lives of patients and families throughout our community. We are deeply grateful for their continued partnership and dedication to advancing healthcare in Delta.

A big thank you to Amira and Charlie, Grade 5 students from Hawthorne Elementary, who raised $126 through their lemonade stand in support of Delta Hospital and Community Health Foundation. These two young philanthropists chose to support Delta Hospital, with their donation going toward the purchase of new equipment to support patient care.

Amira and Charlie have shown that you're never too young to make a difference, and their lemonade stand is a wonderful example of how small acts can have a big impact in our community. We're so grateful they chose to support better care for patients at the Delta Hospital Campus of Care!

This World Mental Health Day, we're recognizing the importance of supporting healthcare workers who care for our community every day. Working in healthcare can mean navigating stressful, emotional, and sometimes traumatic situations. That's why access to mental health resources and peer support is so important for the wellbeing of frontline teams.

As highlighted in Fraser Health's story featuring Delta Hospital Emergency Department Manager Clay Gillrie, initiatives like the Critical Incident Stress Management (CISM) team and the comforting presence of Ceri, an Operational Stress Intervention dog, help health care workers find moments of connection, comfort, and calm when they need it most. Because caring for patients starts with caring for the people behind the care.

Thank you to Ivy Tam for her generous $100,000 gift to our Elevating Care: Bringing MRI to Delta Campaign, helping bring MRI services to Delta Hospital and expand access to diagnostic care close to home.

A long time Ladner resident and dedicated supporter of local healthcare, Ivy's remarkable contribution brings us one step closer to introducing MRI services at Delta Hospital for the first time in our history. Once operational, the MRI is expected to provide up to 10,000 scans annually, reducing the need for patients to travel outside the community for diagnostic imaging appointments.
