A quarter-century of changing what it means to age at home.

In 2001, we set out with a clear vision: to change the home care industry by focusing on more than just clinical tasks. We wanted to prioritize purpose, independence, and the daily moments that make life meaningful. 25 years later, our Happier Aging™ approach continues to set that standard. It’s easy for life to get quiet when you rely on care every day. For Romeo, this was often the case. But he held a beautiful wish in his heart: he dreamed of seeing a dolphin in real life. His care team knew all about Romeo's dream and decided it was time to make it happen. When they pulled up to the marine park, you could instantly see the pure excitement take over. He sat right by the water's edge, feeding them fish and beaming with joy as he watched the dolphins glide through the water.

Romeo’s story is heartwarming proof that true care goes far beyond delivering a standard routine. It’s about listening intently to what someone truly wants, stepping outside the everyday, and helping them live each day fulfilling the wishes that sit within their heart.

Everyone deserves to feel fulfilled, regardless of their limitations. Experiencing Romeo’s joy right alongside him as he waved to the dolphins is exactly what makes our work so deeply meaningful. That is what Happier Aging® is truly about. It’s listening to what brings someone genuine joy, stepping outside the ordinary, and making dreams, big or small, come true.

Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to support in home care. A career with purpose.

Purpose : To Make Lives Better, one visit at a time

Objective : To provide professional LPN services and enable the client to remain independent in their own home.

Job Summary : Delivers client care and services on case by case basis in accordance with the LPN standards and Nurse Next Door’s policies. The LPN works with the client, their families, the Care Designer and the health authority, supports and makes recommendations for improved systems and processes and continuously assesses the effectiveness of care delivery in support of achieving the client’s goals.

This job is best suited to someone looking for a long term, steady position working evenings on a set schedule, sharing the weekly workload with other LPNs and RNs.

Qualifications :

Graduate of accredited licensed practical nurse/registered practical nurse/registered nursing assistant program and practical from a community college.
Current Certificate of Competence and in good standing with the provincial College of Nurses ie CLPNBC
1 year of nursing experience required; three years nursing experience preferred. Community, home health or medical/surgical experience preferred.
Comply with the Regulated Health Professions Act.
Comply with accepted professional standards of practice.
High level of interpersonal skills.
Certified in CPR.
Strong clinical skills.
Excellent customer service skills and ability to deal tactfully with clients, other team members and community.
Treat clients, team members and the public with courtesy, respect and presents a positive public image.
Empathy for the needs of the client.
Works as a team member.
