The Relationship Between Skull/Men Strain and Ear, Nose, and Throat (ENT) Diseases
Many patients present with chronic sinusitis or blocked eustachian tubes, where the ears fill with fluid and cannot drain. Some patients experience migraines and tinnitus or chronic jaw pain/clicking, known as temporomandibular joint disorder. These chronic ENT conditions may also be accompanied by brain fog and the inability to focus clearly or early signs of depression.
There are three main causes of ENT conditions: 1) Environmental sensitivities, such as seasonal allergies or exposure to toxins such as mold or viruses; 2) Food allergies and sensitivities, such as gluten, yeast, dairy, etc.; and 3) Poor cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) flow due to cranial restrictions or meningeal tension in the head and face.
If you have tried to eliminate the environmental or food sensitivity and the condition persists, there is a good chance that there may be chronic restrictions in the cranial and meningeal system that are preventing the cerebrospinal fluid from flowing normally throughout the skull, affecting the sinus chambers. Restrictions in the cranial/meningeal system accumulate over time (usually months or years), sometimes due to childhood head injuries, falls, or concussions. This causes the meningeal layer to tighten, preventing the cranial and facial bones from expanding and contracting, resulting in poor cranial rhythm. This loss of adequate cranial rhythm results in poor flow of cerebrospinal fluid, which is responsible for nourishing the neurons in the brain. This ultimately leads to poor circulation to vital organs of the head and face, including the glands, temporomandibular joint, sinuses, and canals such as the eustachian tube. This leads to inflammation and toxicity buildup and a tendency for recurrent infections.
Simply put, poor structure leads to poor function.
The solution must be addressed at the upstream cause of the problem rather than trying to fix every symptom downstream. Restoring cranial rhythm by expanding the meningeal layer so that the cranial and facial bones can expand and contract freely is the goal of Functional Cranial Release, an endonasal balloon therapy procedure. This is done slowly over four consecutive days to gently open the cranial/meningeal layer from the inside out through the nasal passages. By relieving the restriction in the endonasal chamber, the sphenoid bone can move again, restoring proper air passage in the nostrils for improved breathing and nitric oxide production in the nasal cavity. Mouth breathing is reduced. The sinus channels are opened to allow proper drainage of the congested sinuses. The opening of the Eustachian tube is freed and the temporomandibular joint is restored to its proper position.
In short, many common ear, nose and throat (ENT) conditions are resolved by releasing restrictions in the cranial/meningeal system and allowing the body to function and heal itself by restoring cranial rhythm.
