PHASE 5 ACL REHAB 🦵⚡️
In this last phase, the focus shifts towards restoring sport-specific movement. We’re building power, agility, coordination, and then ability to react to unpredictable situations — all while continuing to improve strength and confidence.
What does that look like at our clinic?
✅ Slow Pivot Drills to gradually reintroduce rotational control
✅ Step-Up Pivots to challenge deceleration and directional changes
✅ Double-Leg to Single-Leg 180 degrees Jumps to develop power, landing mechanics, and rotational control
✅ Reactive Side Shuffles with vocal commands to train quick decision-making and change of direction
✅ Ladder Drills to improve footwork, coordination, and speed
✅ Single-Leg Jumping while throwing & catching a med ball to challenge balance, power, and dual-task control
It’s tempting to rush into cutting and pivoting, but successful return to sport depends on being able to control these movements first. We gradually progress from planned drills to reactive drills so athletes are prepared for the unpredictable demands of competition.
