Was great to welcome on Youtube last week. Here a link to the Interesting video they created about Drayton Valley and its history. The Shale Medical Clinic sits on the location of one of the Town's first gas stations that fuelled the Town's 1950's oil boom and later became a car dealership. We're proud to call this community our home!

Now hiring — Nursing roles (Drayton Valley & Evansburg)

We’re expanding team-based primary care to improve local access, continuity, and timely follow-up for patients in our communities. We are currently recruiting for the following positions:

Drayton Valley (Shale Medical Clinic)
• 2 × Registered Nurse (RN) – Team-Based Primary Care (0.9 & 0.7 FTE): chronic disease follow-ups, results review, protocol-led visits, patient education, and physician support with brief daily case review.
• 1 × Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) – Rapid Access Clinic (0.9 FTE): protocol-led same-day care for minor concerns (e.g., UTI, sore throat, wound checks, ear flush, injections, suture removal).

Evansburg (Towers Medical Clinic)
• 1 × Registered Nurse (RN) – Team-Based Primary Care (0.4-0.6 FTE) option to increase: chronic disease check-ins, results/refills, women’s health support, and rapid-access minor concerns—working closely with physicians to keep care moving efficiently.

We are happy to announce that Dr Albakosh and Dr El Medhwi will be continuing seeing their patients at the Towers Medical Clinic in Evansburg.

Their first day is Wednesday the 25th of March.

Patients are welcome to book appointments via our clinic app.

PUBLIC NOTICE: No outpatient X-rays in Drayton Valley (Jan 7–Mar 9, 2026)

AHS has advised that X-ray services at the Drayton Valley Hospital & Care Centre will be under renovation/equipment replacement from Jan 7 to Mar 9, 2026. During this time, the hospital will have limited mobile X-ray capability for basic exams only.

⚠️ Important: The limited X-ray service will be for hospital patients only (ER / Acute Care / LTC).
✅ No outpatient/community X-ray appointments will be available at the hospital.
➡️ Any X-rays ordered by our clinic will need to be done outside of Drayton Valley (e.g., Leduc, Devon, Rocky Mountain House, Rimbey etc).

Also, the former ACMS X-ray clinic remains closed, so there is currently no local outpatient X-ray option. We anticipate it may reopen shortly under new management and will share updates when confirmed.

While inconvenient, this upgrade is long overdue and we’re glad to see AHS investing in improved equipment for our community.
