National Drowning Prevention Week 2026 starts on Sunday, July 19!
Each day of NDPW focuses on a different water safety topic, and we'll be sharing safety tips for each one!
July 19 - Fatal & Non-Fatal Drowning
July 20 - Open Water
July 21 - Pool Safety
July 22 - Swim to Survive
July 23 - Child Supervision
July 24 - Alcohol & Substance Use
July 25 - Boating Safety & PFDs
In Canada, National Drowning Prevention Week is held during the third week of July, as that's the time of year when we tend to see the most drowning incidents.
If you'd like to help promote NDPW in your community, we've got some free resources available to download on our website: https://www.lifesaving.org/about/events/national-drowning-prevention-week
We also encourage you to visit your local aquatic facilities during National Drowning Prevention Week - some of them may have some special activities going on for the occasion!
