๐ŸŒŸ Meet Our Newest Team Member! ๐ŸŒŸ

Please join us in welcoming our newest nurse, Shelley, to the team at our Clifford site!

With 15 years of nursing experience, most of it spent caring for patients at Listowel Hospital, she is now beginning an exciting new chapter in primary care. She's passionate about building meaningful relationships with patients and is looking forward to supporting them throughout their healthcare journey.

When she's not at the clinic, she's a busy mom of three who spends plenty of time at the arena cheering on her kids. She also loves getting lost in a good book and discovering new adventures and places to explore with her family.

We're thrilled to have her on our team and know our patients will appreciate her compassion, experience, and dedication. Be sure to say hello and help us give her a warm welcome!

๐Ÿ“ข Colon Cancer Screening in Ontario Now Starts at Age 45

Good news! Starting July 1, 2026, Ontario has lowered the age for routine colorectal cancer screening from 50 to 45 for people at average risk.

If you have a parent, sibling, or child who has had colorectal cancer, you may be eligible to begin screening even earlier.

Colorectal cancer is one of the most preventable cancers when detected early through screening.

If you are 45 or older, or have a family history of colorectal cancer, contact your primary care provider to discuss screening.

Early detection can save lives. ๐Ÿ’™

๐ŸŒž Stay Safe This Summer โ€“ County Hot Weather Response Plan is Here! ๐ŸŒž

Hot weather can pose serious health risks, especially for individuals experiencing homelessness and other vulnerable community members.

The 2026 County Hot Weather Response Plan provides information on:
โ˜€๏ธ Cool-down locations throughout Wellington County
๐Ÿ’ง Places to access water and respite from the heat
๐Ÿ  Emergency shelter contacts
๐Ÿ“ž Who to call if someone needs assistance
โค๏ธ Resources to help keep everyone safe during periods of extreme heat

Remember, the plan is not triggered by a specific temperatureโ€”if you or someone you know needs relief from the heat, don't wait. Use your judgment and access available supports whenever needed.

Please take a few minutes to review the plan and share it with your friends, family, neighbours, and anyone who may benefit.

Learn more here: https://www.gwpoverty.ca/2026-county-hot-weather-response-plan-1/

Together, we can help ensure everyone has access to a safe place to cool down this summer. ๐ŸŒฟ๐Ÿ’™
