Today, September 30, we pause to observe the National Day for Truth and Reconciliation and Orange Shirt Day.

Our daily work surrounds the journey of grief, remembrance, and honoring those we have lost. Today, we turn our hearts collectively toward a profound shared history, honoring the Indigenous children who never came home, the resilience of Survivors, and the lasting impact felt by their families. True healing begins with acknowledging the truth of the past.

We encourage our community to actively participate in local activities that honor Survivors and their families. If you are looking for a way to show your support, please join the community events taking place right here in Dryden:
- 10:00 AM: The walk begins at Cooper Park (Earl Ave.) and makes its way to the Friendship Centre at 74 Queen Street. Everyone is encouraged to wear an orange shirt.
- 11:00 AM: Land acknowledgements, prayers, and cultural activities, including a performance by public speaker and hoop dancer Notorious Cree. A catered lunch will be provided at the centre following the walk.

If today brings forward heavy emotions or painful memories, please know you do not have to carry them alone. Our team remains available by phone 24/7 to support families experiencing a loss.

Some support lines are available as well:
- National Residential School Crisis Line: 1-866-925-4419
- Hope for Wellness Helpline: 1-855-242-3310

We remember. We honor. We listen. 🧡
