It’s back to school season, and that also means it is also time for us to say goodbye (for now!) to our summer students!

This summer, we hosted 15 nursing students as Patient Care Assistants and 1 Rehab student to work closely with experienced healthcare professionals and develop hands-on skills to help them in their studies and into their future careers.

Here are just a few of the things our students had to say:

“I am proud to be a part of the team here at the Dryden Regional Health Centre and couldn't be more grateful for the guidance, support, and experience they have provided as I move into my second year.” – Madison, 1st Year PCA

“I have really enjoyed working here this summer and look forward to returning next summer. After graduating I look forward to returning to Dryden to work with and continue to learn from the staff here at DRHC." – Adria, 2nd Year PCA

“After such a great experience working at DRHC as a student, I plan on returning to work here as an RN once I graduate. I would like to gain experience and build skills on the inpatient unit before hopefully working in the emergency room one day.” – Ashlyn, 2nd year PCA

“I’ve enjoyed spending my summer at Dryden Regional Health Centre, where I’ve had the opportunity to learn from the supportive and knowledgeable staff, and gain valuable experience. After graduation, I plan to return to DRHC to begin my nursing career!" – Dana, 1st Year PCA

“Once I graduate, I hope to return to Dryden and work with the incredible nurses here, who have already had such a positive impact on my learning and teach me something new every time I’m back!” – Ella, 2nd Year PCA

Good luck to all of our summer students heading back for the start of the new semester. We look forward to welcoming you back over the holidays and again next summer!
