Smith; Jack Charles
1935-2026
Jack peacefully completed his journey to Heaven on Sunday evening at 10:15pm and thankfully, he is now with Jesus, his Lord and Savior. He came to a saving knowledge of Jesus in 1983 and has faithfully served the Lord in many ways over those years, both at People’s Church, Hamilton and Calvary Church, Dunnville. His fervent wish was that his whole family would join him in Christian faith. He was the loving and dedicated husband of Norma. Loving father of Clint (2023) and Yolanda, Christopher and Ann, Carey and Tracey, grandfather of Tom, Emily, Adam, Crystal and Samantha and great-grandfather of Charlie, Maxwell, Bennett, James and Brynn. He retired from Burlington Hydro with 34 years of service and often looked back with fond memories to his time there. We would like to sincerely thank Grandview Lodge staff for their dedicated service to Jack during his stay. He was treated with respect, love, kindness and friendship and he came to love them all. Grandview really is one great big family! He did not wish to have a funeral or visitation (saying that he had been to enough of them) and so we are honouring his wishes as he planned. His desire was to ‘slip away with no fuss’ because he knew exactly what his next address would be and he was looking forward to Heaven. This is not a sad time but a time of rejoicing that his trip was successfully completed. May the Lord bless you and keep you all. Arrangements entrusted to Ballard Minor Funeral Home, 315 Broad Street East, Dunnville (905-774-7277). Friends are invited to send condolences and sign the Book of Memories at www.ballardminorfh.ca.
