You may have seen us talk about different forms of family and domestic violence this month.

Economic abuse is another form of family violence. Partners may control how money is spent, who owns and manages bank accounts, or use money to get what they want.

Many people stay in toxic relationships because they can’t afford to leave.

Worrying can come so easily to many of us. It’s easy to ruminate on what’s wrong and needs to be fixed, which can lead to overthinking, a sense of helplessness, and increased anxiety about the future.

When this happens, take a moment to breathe through it.

What exactly IS Therapeutic Foster Care?

1. This program is focused on youth aged 8-17 years old, with a focus on having 1 youth in your home at a time. They are gradually transitioned into your home to help build a relationship and support self-determination.

2. It is a good fit for caregivers who have the flexibility to provide one-on-one support to a youth to help them thrive in identity development and goal setting.

If you're interested in learning more about fostering, get in touch with us today. Our team can help you decide which program is a good fit: https://tfcna.com/4yfVVMo

What does isolation look/feel like in situations of family violence?

Isolation makes it easier to control the family unit.

Partners using this form of violence might not let you visit friends/family, make you spend all your time with them, or say mean things about your loved ones. They might try to distance you from your children.

Having a support system is important for getting out of an unhealthy relationship. Friends and family can help you navigate this transition safely.
