The deeper roots of Easter speak to the very heart of birth work. Long before it was a story of resurrection, Easter was a celebration of fertility, spring, and the sacred feminine power to create life.

As a doula, I witness this ancient magic all the time, mothers stepping into transformation, birth bringing life through the sacred threshold, and families blooming into something new.

This season, may we remember the earth’s rhythms and the wisdom they offer: new life comes from surrender, courage, and the cycles of change.

In a flock of flamingos, the paler ones are often the mamas, they’ve given so much to their babies that they’ve literally lost their color! Flamingos get their beautiful pink hue from the nutrients in their food, but when they’re raising their chicks, they transfer so much of those nutrients to their little ones that their own feathers fade. Over time, as they replenish themselves, their vibrant color returns.

Motherhood asks so much of us, we pour our love, energy, and strength into our little ones. But just like the flamingo, with time, nourishment, and care, we don’t just regain what we’ve given; we emerge as something even more powerful, a balance of who we were and who we’ve become through this incredible journey. A beautiful reminder that giving is natural, but so is replenishing. ✨💗
