A Taste of the Philippines in Stettler 🇵🇭

Heritage Day is a time to celebrate the cultures and traditions that make our communities stronger.

Earlier this month, Points West Living Stettler hosted a celebration of Filipino culture, bringing residents and employee care partners together to share food, stories, and traditions. Events like these offer opportunities to learn from one another, celebrate diversity, and strengthen the sense of community that makes each residence unique.

Every culture brings something valuable to the table, and we're grateful to see those traditions shared and celebrated throughout our managed communities.

River Days, the Points West Living Way!

The plaid was everywhere at West Living Peace River during this year's River Days celebration.

Residents and employee care partners embraced the theme, decorating the community from corner to corner and creating a welcoming atmosphere that reflected the excitement happening throughout town. Their hard work was recognized with the "Must See Spot" award.

Community celebrations have a unique way of bringing people together. They spark conversations, create shared experiences, and help residents stay connected to the traditions and events that make their town special.

Lobster Steals the Spotlight 🦞

At Points West Living Moose Jaw , one resident has a long-running Friday tradition. Every Fish Day, he jokingly asks for a whole lobster, even though everyone knows it's not on the menu.

One Friday, the dining room team decided to have a little fun with his weekly request.

When a bright red stuffed lobster arrived at his table, carefully presented on a bed of lettuce, he was completely caught off guard. The moment he realized what he was seeing, he burst into laughter. His tablemates joined in, along with the servers who had quietly planned the surprise behind the scenes.

While it may have been a simple joke, the impact was much bigger. Moments like these remind us that exceptional senior living is about more than meals and services. It's about relationships, knowing people well enough to make them smile, and creating opportunities for joy, connection, and spontaneity.

Connecting Care was proud to attend the Edmonton Career Fair yesterday at the Edmonton Convention Centre.

It was a great opportunity to connect with so many people interested in making a difference in the lives of seniors.

The Connecting Care Spring Conference 2026 has come to a close, and this Eden tree is a beautiful reminder of what our communities bring to the table.

On Day 1, each community added leaves that shared a strength, a resident engagement story, and an area they want to continue growing.

By the end of the activity, the tree held more than words. It held examples of hospitality in action: pride in good work, stories of meaningful connection, and a shared commitment to keep improving.

As we reflect on our theme, Cultivating Culture Through Hospitality, this tree reminds us that culture grows through everyday choices. The way we welcome, listen, notice, include, and care.

Thank you to everyone who helped make this conference meaningful. We are grateful for the learning, the connection, and the dedication our teams bring back to their communities.
