🩵One of the greatest privileges of this work is the trust people place in me when they choose to walk a path that often doesn't look like what they imagined.

Many arrive after years of searching for answers. They're thoughtful, sceptical, hopeful, exhausted - sometimes all at once.

Somatic work doesn't ask anyone to suspend their critical thinking. It simply invites us to notice what the body is already doing and to become curious about experiences that don't always fit neatly into our usual understanding of healing.

Sometimes those changes are subtle.

Sometimes they're surprising.

And sometimes they leave someone telling their spouse, "I think she's a witch." 😄

To every client who has been willing to explore the unfamiliar with curiosity, humour, and courage—thank you. It never stops being an honour to walk alongside you. 🤗

🩵From a client who recently finished reading From the Underworld. 😊

Reading that Dale recognized pieces of himself in Tom and Manish’s stories is a beautiful reminder of why these case studies were shared in the first place.

From the Underworld follows ten real somatic case studies, exploring the subtle ways developmental trauma continues to shape the body long after the mind believes it has moved on.

If you're curious whether you might recognize parts of your own story in these pages, you'll find more information at the link in my bio. 🤗

Sometimes we inherit stories that are spoken around the dinner table. Other times, we inherit patterns that were never put into words at all, ways of responding, protecting, or anticipating that quietly shape how we meet the world.

Whether we call it developmental trauma, attachment, or generational transmission, the nervous system often carries traces that words alone cannot fully reach.

Vision Somatics® grew from a simple observation: some of us cannot explain what we’re experiencing, but we may recognise it visually through imagery, patterns, symbols.

Sometimes an image can become the doorway to unexplained patterns and symptoms.

Maya deserves a photo, too. 😃 She's one of the main characters in the book 🩵.

She sat at my feet while I wrote every chapter and revision. And she quietly supported the flow of each session captured in this book.🤗

👉One of the things that continues to fascinate me about Vision Somatics® is that two people can look at exactly the same image and enter completely different realities.

Those realities aren't random.

They're organised around what already carries charge and meaning in the nervous system, what sits close enough to the surface to be reached.

The client whose message I've shared here wasn't responding to the image itself.

He was responding to what the image quietly helped him notice. 💡

That's why these images aren't meant to be interpreted.

They're invitations to explore.

Some evoke curiosity.

Others evoke relief.

Some create resistance.

The same image that feels uncomfortable to one person may feel deeply familiar to another.

We inhabit a shared visual world of meaning, yet each of us enters it through a different doorway. 🚪

This understanding has shaped the evolution of Vision Somatics® over many years, and it's also what inspired the creation of the new companion deck.

I'm looking forward to sharing it with you soon. 🩵

👉Some trauma books present ideas. This one sits beside real people.

Every case study in From the Underworld is shared with the client's permission, given in the hope that someone else might recognise themselves in these pages and feel a little less alone.

Many came looking for help with breathing, sleep, overwhelm, or emotions and physical symptoms that didn't seem to make sense.

Together, we discovered we weren't simply working with symptoms—we were gently uncovering the lasting imprint of developmental trauma. 💫

If you've ever wondered what actually happens inside a somatic session, or how early experiences continue to shape us into adulthood, this book offers a rare glimpse into that process.

📖 From the Underworld is available now.

👀The body remembers through the eyes👇

Vision Somatics® grew out of a simple observation:

We don't only see what's in front of us.

We see through what we've lived.

👁️Our visual system is constantly orienting toward safety, danger and connection, shaped not only by biology, but by attachment, memory and trauma. Sometimes what cannot yet be spoken is first revealed through perception.

Over many years of somatic psychotherapy practice, I began creating therapeutic images that could meet the nervous system beneath ordinary language—where sensation, memory, symbol and survival patterns often overlap.

These aren't cards for predicting the future.

They're invitations to notice. 💡

To slow down.

To look again.

Vision Somatics® continues to evolve, and with it, so does this collection of imagery.

I'm currently preparing a new companion deck that expands the original collection. Many of the images revisit familiar themes, offering a second expression of the same perceptual landscape—often more layered, more emotionally nuanced, and designed to meet the body from a different place.

I'm looking forward to sharing them with you soon. 🩵

👇 A note about engaging with my latest book.

This book isn't meant to be understood only through thinking.

Some of what you read may register in your body before it makes sense in your mind.

You may notice your breathing change.

Your jaw tighten.

Your attention narrow...
..or drift.

You may feel nothing at all.

All of it belongs. 🤗

If something shifts while you're reading—whether subtly or suddenly—you can pause.

Look around the room.

Feel where your body is in space.

Not to control what's happening.

Simply not to lose yourself in it.

You don't have to move through it quickly.

These chapters aren't instructions or solutions.

They're ways of seeing.

If you're curious about what somatic sessions can actually look and feel like, From the Underworld offers ten real case studies from the therapy room.

📖 It's available now via the link in my bio.
