🗣️✨ Communication belongs on the playground, in the sandbox, and everywhere in between!

Students who use AAC need their communication systems within arm’s reach at all times. Worried about devices getting wet, dirty, or broken 💥 during messy or outdoor play? Try these ideas:

💦 Zipper Bags: Slip devices or paper boards into heavy-duty page protectors or freezer bags for quick, low-cost protection during water or mud play.

📄Print screenshots of the device display and laminate them: they become waterproof, sand-proof, and easy to wipe clean!

Remember: it’s never okay to turn AAC off or take it away 🚫

How do you keep AAC accessible in all kinds of environments? Share your tips below! 👇💬

AAC is such an amazing tool, but there’s so much confusion out there about how it works and why we use it. This can get in the way of people getting the support they truly deserve, so let’s set the record straight and celebrate all the ways we connect! 🤝💡

AAC access looks different for everyone, and that’s exactly how it should be! 🌟

At Elves, we use alternate access methods like eye gaze, partner assisted scanning, and switches so every student can express themselves, no matter what their body is able to do. Because communication belongs to EVERYONE.

What’s your favorite AAC access tool? Drop it below! 👇

We see it every day: AAC transforms our students' world. 🌎 Giving a child a robust way to communicate goes way beyond requesting:

👋 Bye-Bye Frustration: Giving kids a clear way to share their feelings, ideas, and "no thanks!" means way fewer communication meltdowns!

✨ Big Personality, Full Control: AAC lets our students drop jokes, take charge of playtime, make friends, and show the world who they are!

🧠 Brain & Speech Booster: AAC builds robust language skills and actually supports—never stops—natural speech growth!

Big news: October is officially PT and OT Month! 💙🥳

This month is all about celebrating the Physical Therapists and Occupational Therapists who bring so much energy, creativity, and love to our spaces. They’re the masterminds behind the noise-canceling headphones, the weighted vest magic, and every step, stretch, and smile in between. We love our therapists so much! 👏💫

Drop a 🎉 in the comments if you love our therapy team as much as we do!
