Our 40-day kundalini journey with joy is complete.
Jill created this practice from within her own grief, with a desire to experience joy more fully. She finishes the journey feeling lighter and deeply grateful to everyone who walked alongside her.

The movements remained the same throughout. Each morning brought a different theme, inviting a fresh perspective on joy: noticing it, receiving it, recognizing resistance and making room for more.

For Jill, the experience grew from subtle smiles and easier laughter into a deeper sense of being fully herself.

Thank you to everyone who shared this practice with us.

You can revisit or begin the journey:
• Monthly unlimited members: access to all 40 days
• Single class: $5
• Full 40-day library: $44

Finishing your yoga teacher training does not mean sequencing will suddenly feel effortless.

Many new teachers wonder how they are supposed to remember the poses, breath, cues, timing, right and left sides—and still remain present with the people in the room.

If that is where you are, you are not behind. Your training gave you a foundation. Fluency comes through practice, repetition, and thoughtful reflection.

In my latest article, I share a simple five-part map for planning a class, why using notes does not make you less of a teacher, and how to know when continuing education could help.

You do not need to create the most complicated sequence in the room. You need a clear path—and enough space to truly see your students.

Read the full blog below. I would also love to hear from yoga teachers: What part of sequencing felt hardest when you first began teaching?

A great yoga teacher doesn't teach every BODY the same way. Because every body is different.
Different proportions.
Different mobility.
Different strength.
Different experiences.
Different intentions.

Even the same student can arrive at class with completely different needs from one day to the next.

At Yogi Institute, we believe one of the most important skills a yoga teacher can develop is the ability to offer meaningful choices.
Not simply an easier version and a harder version.

But options that recognize the individuality of the person practicing.
Consider a forward fold. One student might benefit from bending their knees. Another might prefer blocks. Another might explore the posture seated. And another might choose to skip the posture entirely. None of these students is doing yoga incorrectly simply because their practice looks different.

The responsibility of the teacher is to understand the intention of the movement, communicate clearly and create opportunities for students to make informed choices.

That's why our Yoga 200, Yoga 300 and continuing education programs emphasize anatomy, alignment variation, sequencing and teaching methodology.

We don't want teachers memorizing one way to perform a posture.
We want teachers understanding the WHY behind what they're teaching. Because mentorship matters. And every student matters. Explore yoga teacher education with Yogi Institute.

Day 31 of our journey to joy offers a glimpse into how Jill plans our daily practices.

Each morning, she wakes up and listens for guidance. Today's reflection was:
"Our greatest experience of joy is being fully ourselves."

From there, an invitation emerged: notice whether there is an area of life where you are not feeling fully alive, present or authentic.
Listening is part of how Jill shapes what she offers at Yogi Institute. A reflection becomes a starting point for shared exploration.

Take this question into your day: where do I feel free to be myself?

Three grounding practices for your desk:
1. FEEL
Notice a comfortable point of contact: feet on the floor, your back against the chair or hands resting on your lap.
2. LOOK
Find an object nearby. Notice its colour, shape or texture.
3. LISTEN
Notice one sound around you, then another if you like.

Try one or all three. Keep your breathing comfortable and skip anything that does not feel helpful.

These are small ways to bring attention to the present moment. You can explore awareness during an ordinary day, wherever you are.

Save this for your next pause.

What does your yoga practice give you beyond the mat?

In this short reflection from class, we explore yoga as a tool for meeting uncertainty, navigating stress, and making space for growth.

A regular practice offers an opportunity to pause, notice how we’re arriving, and bring that awareness into the rest of our lives.

That’s the invitation here: to build a practice that supports the life you’re living—with its changes, surprises, and beautiful everyday moments.

If you practise with us, what have you noticed carrying over into your day? We’d love to hear your experience.

What kind of yoga do you need today?
Not every practice needs to accomplish the same thing.

At Yogi Institute, our LIVE online schedule intentionally includes different styles so you can choose a practice based on how you actually feel—not what you think you're “supposed” to do.

🔥 STRENGTH
Build full-body strength, stability and control through intentional movement and longer holds.
🌊 VINYASA
Connect breath and movement through creative, flowing sequences combining strength, mobility and mindfulness.
🌙 YIN
Slow down with longer-held poses, stillness and an opportunity to explore deeper sensation and awareness.
🤍 RESTORE
Let the props do the work. Fully supported poses create space for deep rest, relaxation and release.
✨ KUNDALINI
Explore breathwork, kriya, mantra, meditation and relaxation through a powerful mind-body-spirit practice.

Some days you need movement.
Some days you need strength.
Some days you need stillness.
Some days you need REST.
Your yoga practice can meet you where you are.

Join Jill LIVE on Zoom throughout the week from wherever you are. 🌎
