The Doula Association of Edmonton firmly believes every family deserves a doula for emotional, physical and informational support regardless of their childbirth choices. DAE is dedicated to providing educational opportunities for doulas, as well as increasing awareness to the public and healthcare community about the positive effects a doula brings to the childbirth experience. We strive to make t

he presence of a doula during labour, birth and the postpartum period a common occurrence. We also provide a referral service for individuals seeking the services of a doula and organize a continuing education lecture series for members.

She is the owner of Full Circle Birth Collective, one of Edmonton’s first and longest-standing doula collectives, and serves as CAPPA Faculty for both the Labour Doula and Postpartum Doula programs, as well as a mentor for new doulas entering the field.
Her background in midwifery across Texas, New Mexico, Colorado, Saskatchewan, and Alberta has deeply shaped her commitment to safe, family centered care and has enriched the perspective she brings to every birth space.
As a CAPPA Certified Childbirth Educator and New Parent Educator as well, Sonya provides comprehensive prenatal education and many other services such as facilitating ceremonies and celebrations, placenta support and postpartum belly binding. ✨Doula Tuesday ✨

Meet Karmen .karmen

I became a postpartum doula after witnessing the powerful transformations of the people I love becoming parents and realizing how little support new families often receive. I offer emotional support, practical help, and nourishing meals to ease the Fourth Trimester and help parents feel seen and cared for. Feeding families is my love language, and creating calm, connected spaces fuels my work. I also serve as the Admin & Referral Coordinator on the Doula Association of Edmonton’s executive board.

Make sure to give .karmen a follow!

✨Doula Tuesday! ✨( two days late!)

Meet Lily

Hello, I’m Lily, the doula behind Petal & Latch here in Edmonton. I support families through pregnancy, labour, birth and the early postpartum season with a grounded, faith filled approach. I believe wholeheartedly that you were made for this.

I was called to birth work long before I became a doula. At just nineteen, I took my first lactation consultant course, and after the redeeming birth of my second child, I knew it was time to step further into this space.

My goal is for you to have an empowering, positive and meaningful birth experience. I want you to trust your body and your intuition as you navigate each step. Through birth doula care, breastfeeding support and evidence based guidance, I’m here to help you feel confident, supported and at ease.

Doula Tuesday: Meet Motherhood Matters

We’re Sara & Sam - the doulas behind Motherhood Matters.🌿

Our mission is simple and steady: every mother deserves an empowering, supported birthing experience - one rooted in love, respect, and truly informed choices.

Our story began in 2019 with a chance meeting at an animal shelter and a serendipitous reconnection on Instagram. Over the years, we’ve walked alongside each other through the highs and lows of life, and somewhere in the midst of it all, we both felt the same pull toward birth work. That shared calling is what grew into Motherhood Matters.

We each carry our own birth stories, shaped by their beauty and their challenges, and those experiences fuel the heart behind our work. Above all, we want the families we serve to feel heard, held, and deeply supported - from the first flutter to the first days home.
