💚 Meet the Faces Behind Lucina Birth Centre!

You see the beautiful birth rooms, the babies, and the families who walk through our doors — but there’s also a small team working behind the scenes to help keep everything running smoothly!

We thought it was time to introduce you to the admin team behind Lucina. 👋

Meet...

✨ Kayla (right) — Facility Coordinator
Kayla is often one of the first people families connect with when they’re interested in using the Birth Centre. She takes care of registrations, arranging payment, checking availability, and helping families get everything set up for their Birth Centre experience. She also looks after our rental equipment and helps keep those rentals organized.

✨ Samantha (left) — General Manager
That’s me! 👋 I’m the person behind many of the day-to-day operations at Lucina. I take care of tours, emails, coordinating projects, supporting our cleaning crew and midwives, and keeping things moving behind the scenes.
And then there’s one of my favourite jobs… 🧇💚
I’m the one who makes the famous Lucina waffles that families get to enjoy after they welcome their babies!

We may be a small admin team, but we do a lot behind the scenes to help make Lucina the welcoming, special place that it is.

We recently found out about Safe Space Alliance 🌈 and are a verified safe space! Inclusivity and safety are priority in our space - all are welcome and everyone deserves to feel safe in childbirth. This organization is a LGBTQI+ led nonprofit that helps people identify, navigate, and create safe spaces for LGBTQI+ communities worldwide. Their two core activities include maintaining an online directory of spaces around the world that welcome and support LGBTQI+ communities, and helping LGBTQI+ people get to safety. Being part of the Safe Space Alliance is being part of a global and collaborative network that welcomes and supports LGBTQI+ communities. They will help us continue to unlearn, learn, and improve, and let people know that they are safe with us.
