📚 Cornerstone Reading Corner

In honour of National Indigenous Peoples Day this month, we're featuring Spílexm by Nicola I. Campbell, recommended by our Administrative Assistant, Leah.

Spílexm is a decolonial story following an Indigenous woman's journey through trauma, healing, and recovery after surviving the Residential School System. It interweaves poetry and prose throughout the narrative.

As we approach National Indigenous Peoples Day, this powerful and moving book offers an opportunity to reflect on Indigenous experiences, resilience, and the ongoing journey toward healing and reconciliation.

As we celebrate Seniors’ Week, we were honoured to attend the 2026 Older Bolder Better Exhibition & Symposium yesterday! 🎉

We had a wonderful time connecting with seniors, caregivers, community organizations, and potential partners at our booth, sharing information about our counselling services and workshops designed to support emotional well-being, resilience, and healthy aging.

Seniors’ Week is a meaningful opportunity to recognize the invaluable contributions of older adults in our communities and to celebrate the importance of connection, support, and lifelong wellness. We are grateful for the conversations we had, the relationships we strengthened, and the new connections we made throughout the day.

Thank you to everyone who stopped by to learn more about how Cornerstone Counselling supports seniors and caregivers. We look forward to continuing to work alongside our community to help older adults thrive.

💙 Happy Seniors’ Week!

June is Pride Month,

Here at Cornerstone Counselling, we affirm how 2SLGBTQ+ individuals and families deserve to exist in a world of acceptance and love without conditions, and doesn't reject people for who they love.

We recognize how sexual orientation and gender identity relates to a person's mental health; socioeconomic and cultural conditions, discrimination, prejudice, denial of civil and human rights, harassment and family rejection are all things 2SLGBTQ+ individuals still experience, and can negatively impact or contribute to mental health conditions.

If you are looking for a safe, welcoming space to work through what you are carrying, we are here to help.
