🚧 SUPPORT ACCESSIBLE LOCAL BUSINESSES ON 121 STREET 🚧
Proposed changes to 121 Street in Edmonton could significantly affect parking and accessibility for local businesses, customers, clients, and visitors - including access to offices and appointment-based services along the corridor.
Local businesses and stakeholders are raising concerns about the proposed removal of on-street parking along 121 Street between Jasper Avenue and 104 Avenue as part of the Wîhkwêntôwin Neighbourhood Renewal project.
We support neighbourhood renewal and improvements to our community - however, we are concerned about how the loss of accessible short-term parking may affect the day-to-day accessibility and viability of the businesses that operate here.
Many businesses along this stretch serve people attending appointments, accessing services, or making short visits - including individuals with mobility limitations.
We are respectfully asking the City to revisit the design and explore balanced solutions that maintain meaningful accessibility and on-street parking while still supporting broader renewal goals.
If you would like to support accessible local businesses and a balanced approach to the 121 Street redesign, please consider signing and sharing the petition below.
