June is National Indigenous History Month, a time to learn from and honour the histories, cultures, stories, and ongoing contributions of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis peoples.

This quote comes from my retelling of Skywoman, a powerful figure from Haudenosaunee tradition, whose story reminds us of our relationship with the land, with each other, and with the cycles that sustain life. I first came across Skywoman's story in Robin Wall Kimmerer's beautiful book Braiding Sweetgrass.

This month, I encourage you to seek out Indigenous authors, artists, storytellers, Knowledge Keepers, and educators, and to spend some time reflecting on your own relationship with the land you inhabit.

✨ NEW BOOK: The Secret Tales of the Tarot: A Journey Through the Hidden Histories of the Tarot Deck ✨

This book explores the Tarot through story, mythology, and archetype — not just as a divinatory system, but as a mythic journey.

Following the path of the Fool, we meet figures like the High Priestess, the Lovers, the Hanged Man, and the Magician through the lens of storytelling and ancient symbolism. The suits themselves become worlds: Cups, Wands, Swords, and Pentacles as emotional, elemental, and psychological landscapes.

This is a book for Tarot readers, myth lovers, writers, artists, and curious people who want to understand the deeper stories hidden inside the cards.

The book comes out October 13 and pre-orders are now open through Amazon and wherever books are sold. You can also request it through your favourite local bookstore.

✨ June's Tarot Card of the Month: The Nine of Pentacles ✨

This is a card of abundance, self-sufficiency, and the quiet satisfaction that comes from seeing the results of your own efforts.

It reminds us that growth doesn't happen overnight. We plant seeds, tend the garden, survive the storms, and eventually discover that something beautiful has taken root.

In my exploration of this card in my new book , The Secret Tales of the Tarot: A Journey Through the Hidden Histories of the Tarot Deck, I draw on the story of Tristan and Isolde and the idea of the "fruits of labour" — those moments when we pause long enough to recognize what we've built, learned, survived, and created.

The Nine of Pentacles asks us to enjoy the harvest, even if the journey to get there wasn't simple.

Sati’s story reminds us that power does not always have to be loud.

In this article, I explore the goddess Sati and the power of withdrawal — the choice to stop offering your energy where it is ignored, undervalued, or forgotten. Her story asks us to consider what might happen if we stopped trying to prove our worth and simply returned our energy to ourselves.

Airmed’s story reminds us that grief is not something to rush past. It is part of the healing.

In this article, I explore the Celtic goddess Airmed, whose tears over her brother’s grave gave rise to 365 healing herbs. Her story asks us to sit with what has ended, while remembering that loss can sometimes become the soil for something new.

Truth-telling is important, but it is not always simple.

In this article, I explore truth, safety, conflict, and the nervous system — including the times when speaking honestly is wise, and the times when withholding information may be necessary for protection or care.
