CANHelp Working Group www.canhelpworkinggroup.ca Responding to community concerns, the CANHelp Working Group formed to investigate health risks from Helicobacter pylori infection in the Canadian Arctic.

(For who we are, click About, Description, See More) The Canadian North Helicobacter pylori (CANHelp) Working Group conducts community-driven research in northern Canadian Aboriginal communities to address concerns about H. pylori infection, a chronic bacterial infection that causes peptic ulcer disease and stomach cancer. Dr Sander van Zanten is retiring and Dr Karen Goodman is collecting comments of appreciation for his work. As many of you may remember, this work includes being Lead Gastroenterologist for the CANHelp Working Group, where he took many trips to northern communities to do scope tests on folks and speak to patients and whole communities about stomach health.
