🪑 If you spend hours sitting at a desk, behind the wheel, or operating equipment, don’t underestimate the importance of keeping your circulation moving.

One of the simplest things you can do is gently pump your feet back and forth throughout the day. Point your toes away from you, then pull them back toward you. This small movement helps activate your calf muscles, often called your body’s “second heart”, which assist with returning blood from your legs back toward your heart.

💙 Set a reminder to move your feet every 20–30 minutes, especially if you’re unable to get up and walk around. Small movements can make a big difference in helping reduce stiffness and keeping your body feeling its best.

Your body was designed to move, even when you’re sitting.

✨ What is Manual Osteopathy?

Manual Osteopathy is a gentle, hands-on approach that looks at how your entire body moves and functions. Rather than focusing only on where it hurts, the goal is to identify areas of restriction and improve overall balance, mobility, and function.

Treatment may include joint mobilization, myofascial release, cranial techniques, visceral techniques, and personalized movement recommendations to help your body move more comfortably.

Whether you’re dealing with chronic pain, sports injuries, headaches, poor posture, or restricted movement, Manual Osteopathy may be a valuable part of your wellness journey.

💡 Disclaimer: Manual Osteopathy is not a replacement for medical care and does not diagnose or cure medical conditions. Treatments are intended to support the body’s natural function and may help reduce pain, improve mobility, and enhance overall well-being. Results vary from person to person. Always consult your physician or healthcare provider for diagnosis and management of medical conditions.

🚗 Been in a Motor Vehicle Accident? Don’t Ignore the Pain.

Even a minor collision can leave your body dealing with hidden injuries. Neck pain, back pain, headaches, stiffness, reduced mobility, and muscle tension may not appear until hours or even days after the accident.

At Capital City Massage Therapy, I provide Manual Osteopathy and Massage Therapy to help support your recovery. Treatment may help:
• Reduce muscle tension and pain
• Improve joint mobility and flexibility
• Decrease stiffness and inflammation
• Promote healthy circulation
• Support your body’s natural healing process
• Help you return to your daily activities with greater comfort

Every treatment begins with a thorough assessment so your care is tailored to your specific injuries and recovery goals.

Don’t wait for the pain to become chronic. Early assessment and treatment may make a significant difference in your recovery.

**Manual Osteopathy and Massage Therapy are intended to support recovery and improve function. Results vary from person to person and treatment does not replace medical care. If you’ve been involved in a motor vehicle accident, seek medical assessment when appropriate.**

🏫 Have you ever thought about a career where you can truly make a difference in someone’s life every single day?

If you’re looking for a rewarding career change, massage therapy might be exactly what you’re searching for. I graduated from the Alberta College of Massage Therapy, and it gave me the knowledge, confidence, and hands on experience to build a career that I absolutely love. 💗

In this video, I’m giving you a look inside the Downtown Edmonton ACMT campus so you can see what student life is like. If you’ve ever been curious about becoming a Registered Massage Therapist, this is a great place to start. The downtown campus offers a professional learning environment with experienced instructors and plenty of hands-on clinical training.

Not ready to enroll but want to support future therapists? You can also book a student massage. It’s an affordable way to enjoy a massage while helping students gain valuable clinical experience.

Who knows? This could be the career change that changes your life.

What is an SI Joint Dysfunction?

The sacroiliac (SI) joints connect your pelvis to the base of your spine. They play an important role in transferring weight between your upper body and your legs while providing stability and absorbing shock.

When an SI joint isn’t moving properly because it’s too stiff or too mobile, it can become irritated and inflamed. This can lead to pain in the lower back, buttock, hip, groin, or even down the leg, sometimes mimicking sciatica.

During your assessment, I’ll evaluate how your pelvis, hips, and lower back are moving to determine if the SI joint may be contributing to your symptoms. Treatment may include gentle manual techniques to improve joint mobility, release tight muscles and fascia, reduce tension, and help restore balanced movement. I’ll also discuss exercises and self care strategies to help keep the area stable and reduce the chance of the problem returning.

The goal is to decrease pain, improve movement, and help you return to your normal daily activities with greater comfort.
