Not sure where to begin? 🤔

Many people want to become more active but are unsure what is appropriate for their health status.

Prescription to Get Active () removes that uncertainty. It provides guidance through your primary care team and connects you to free trial access to community resources so you can begin safely. If uncertainty has been holding you back, consider raising the topic at your next appointment.

Ask your healthcare professional about a Prescription to Get Active. RxTGA unlocks access to community recreation centres, drop-in programs, online exercise options and local outdoor activity resources.

Going outside is a simple way to support your overall health. For both children and adults, it can be an easy way to help boost mood, focus, and relaxation.

Connecting with nature doesn’t have to be complicated; even small moments can make a big difference. Go for a stroll around your neighbourhood, spend time in your garden, or simply take some deep breaths and listen to the birds around you. 🐦🌻

If you'd like more support incorporating time outside into your day, talk to your primary care team. They can help you set realistic goals for physical activity or movement you enjoy, manage health concerns that may affect your ability to get active, and connect you with programs and resources in your community.

Dr. Truong sheds light on the full scope of family medicine. 🩺 We’re grateful for the care and expertise you and all other providers bring to your patients!

Q: What is one misconception people have about family medicine?

A: That we're not as skilled as specialists. Reality: family doctors are highly trained and highly knowledgeable in various areas of medicine. We need broad and deep medical knowledge to diagnose and treat the wide range of conditions we see daily. This comprehensive skill set allows us to provide holistic, patient-centred care.
