Dr. Simington is a Grief and Trauma Management Specialist- Reinventing Joy and Self-Empowerment During those early years of grief I desperately sought healing.

My vision began to take root some years after the tragic death of my 13 year old son, Billy. In my search I frequently attended grief workshops and read numerous grief books. While each offered valuable information on grief, none provided the healing I needed to mend my broken heart, my fractured soul. What I learned in my search I now share with others, through Key note presentations, in my books

and resources, and through teaching the application of these methods to therapists and other therapeutic healers. I have designed and developed two certification training programs, The Trauma Recovery Certification Program, and the Grief Support Certification Program. Certification in both programs can be transferred for credit toward a Master’s Degree in Counseling.

Heirloom Gardens: A Mother’s Day Reflection

Every Spring, as the earth softens and the first shoots push their way toward the light, I am reminded that a garden is never just a garden. It is a story — one written slowly, season by season, through the hands of those who tend it. In my family, that story began long before my daughters or even I ever pressed our palms into the soil. It began with my mother.
