In Chinese Medicine, the body can be broken down into opposing forces and then even more so as you go to smaller and more detailed levels.

This is why Yang is associated with heat and Yin is associated with cold, in a simplifed example.

When we are Yang deficient, we have difficulties keeping our bodies warm and have a very strong desire to be warm.

Hence why we have a collection of fuzzy socks, comfy warm pajamas and a couple heated blankets throughout the house.

We also tend to get great usage out of our heated seats, even in the warmest parts of summer.

If you need a little help warming up as the colder months start, book an appointment with me by using the link in my bio!

There have been a bunch of small businesses closing down lately.

I’ve seen blame placed and fingers pointed in every direction possible.

Here’s the thing guys, running a small business isn’t fu***ng easy.

You’re waiting for people to choose you, and when you try to remind people you exist you’re told you send too many emails, post too many stories and make too many reels.

You’re told that your business is too far away, people are too busy to come see you, your hours are too weird or that people can get your product or service cheaper somewhere else.

Small businesses rely on the community.

If our community doesn’t show up and is constantly looking for the next easiest and cheapest thing, we close.

Thank you to everyone who continues to choose me and show up for Okami.

‘Ber months also mean it’s close to the end of the year.

Being close to the end of the year means it’s my time to remind you about your benefits.

I’ll probably also start asking what you’re being for Halloween.

In Traditional Chinese Medicine, the Liver is responsible for the smooth flow of Qi in the body, no matter the direction it is going in.

When Liver Qi is stagnated, symptoms we might begin to experience include becoming emotionally frustrated and angry very easily.

Kind of like when you start to feel frustrated by the other “slow moving vehicles” who should be going way faster than the speed limit, so you decide to punch the gas and get in front of everyone by weaving through traffic just to get stuck at the next red light with the same people you just passed. How embarrassing.

Usually our frustration and anger comes from things being stuck. Like when we choose to ignore physical and emotional pain instead of dealing with it and now the whole pot is starting to boil over.

Acupuncture can help relieve some of the physical and emotional symptom which may appear with Liver Qi Stagnation such as:

- tight shoulders and neck
- tension headaches
- feeling like there’s someone sitting on your chest
- mood swings
- irregular bowel movements
- pain in the side of the ribs
- PMS
- & more.

Tell me about your furry, feathered or scaled best friend.

If there’s time you can also show me cute photos of your dogs, cats, rabbits, birds, fish, or whatever pet you might own.

When you get home and tell them I say ‘hi’.
