Grief has no timeline.Today, on Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Day, we remember the lives lost and honour the families whose lives have been forever changed.

There is no right or wrong way to grieve. Some days may feel easier than others, and healing doesn’t mean forgetting the love you carry.

At the Grief and Trauma Healing Centre, we understand that grief is deeply personal. Our team is here to provide a safe, supportive space, where you honour your loss and navigate your grief at your own pace.

You don’t have to face it alone.

Meet Michelle Richards-Thompson 🤍

Before she was a therapist, Michelle spent over ten years as a school counsellor, sitting beside kids, teens, parents, and whole families through some of their hardest moments. That heart for people is something we see in her every single day.

Michelle believes therapy is a journey you take together. Her space is warm, steady, and judgment-free, and her message to every client is simple: you are not broken. You’re a person with a story, and she’s here to help you understand it and feel more like yourself again.

Not sure if therapy is the right next step? Michelle offers a free 15-minute consult, no pressure and no obligation. Call 780-288-8011 or book through the link in our bio.

Nervous about starting therapy? That is completely normal. 🤍

For World Mental Health Day, we asked our therapists what they would say to someone about to take that first step.

Swipe to read their words.

You do not have to have it all figured out. Therapy can go at your pace, and there is no need to rush.

When you are ready, we would love to hear from you. Visit healmyheart.ca to connect with our team.

Meet Monica Falconar, Registered Psychologist at The Grief and Trauma Healing Centre.

Monica specializes in trauma and is extensively trained in EMDR and Accelerated Resolution Therapy. She began her career working with young kids and teens, then moved into work with adults navigating trauma.

"Are you sure it's going to be okay?"

If someone you love keeps asking, it makes sense to answer with comfort. After a loss, needing reassurance is human.

What can happen is a loop: the same question, brief relief, then the same question again. The worry doesn't settle, and you can end up exhausted trying to settle it for them.

Swipe for a different way to respond:
🤍 Name the feeling: "I can see how scared you are right now."
🤍 Show confidence: "This is hard, and I know you can get through it."

If you want to change the pattern, talk about it together first so it doesn't feel like rejection.

And if you are the one carrying the worry, or the grief behind it, you don't have to do it alone. Book at healmyheart.ca (link in bio).
